About this deal

He once approached the subject of the paranormal in an impartial and open minded manner, which is why it was intriguing listening to his experiences, but it's clear he is somewhat of a narcissist.

Because of something buried deeply in his genes, he was of more than normal interest to someone that is supposed not to exist, but does exist---in fact, is master of this earth. On the "ship," Whitley dances with the Little Blue Doctors after they exchange greetings (immediately before the "magic show");I really enjoyed the book at first. It starts off with Whitley's two abduction stories. These stories are really spooky, I read this part late at night and then didn't want to turn the lights off. One story involves vague memories of a night when a crystal fire hovers over his house. The other is a full on aliens abduct the author, take him to a ufo and he gets probed and the little grey men inject something up his nose etc. The dreamlike way it all unfolds makes the visitors much more nightmarish and believable than a more straight forward account would be. Later, less successful thrillers by Strieber include Billy (1990), The Wild (1991), Unholy Fire (1992) [10] and The Forbidden Zone (1993). [ citation needed] Short stories [ edit ]

I asked him in my drunken form, with very clumsy movements on my part, if he was Carlos, he replied saying either ‘I’m his other’ or ‘I’m his brother’, not sure. Virginia screamo band Pg. 99 included an audio recording of a person reading a short excerpt of the story in their album Document #5. [5] He got out of bed and began to remove his clothes, seemingly due to a command that he had no idea he had received. Then, he began to move, as though these creatures, who lined up on each side of him, were passing him down a line causing him to float somewhat. This continued down the stairs and out on to the front porch of the property.

The message of Communion, that something unknown is really happening to people but that we have not studied it enough to understand it, remains as timely now as it was in 1987 when the book was first published. And Whitley Strieber's riveting account of what he experienced, along with his relentless and expert pursuit of the reality behind the experience, is to this day the greatest such account ever published. Most importantly, to me, are those passages where Mr. Strieber talks about “ strengthening our souls.” I see this material as both a logical response to the visitor experience and as a profound inspiration in any case. When Whitley's Russian friend Alex (Andreas Katsulas) finds Whitley in the diner, he tells Whitley that as a child in his native country he heard stories of small beings who lived in the mines, called Kobolds. He tells Whitley he believes these stories are true;

A New World is well-written and easy to read, though its information density is great and the thoughtful reader will be digesting it for a long time. Some may find its topics too scattered, as it moves from Mr. Strieber’s encounter history, to out-of-body experiences, communications with the dead, implants, UFO sightings, animal mutilations, meditation, paranormal creature types, and so on. Add to these a range of anecdotes on those topics, and some readers might get lost in the melange. If they can hang with it, though, and contemplate the material, they can find the synergy behind it all that leads them to new insights. As someone who's followed Strieber for many years, this essay really showed how he can't be trusted as someone who can distinguish between imagination and reality. He avoids criticism by calling critics conspirators and doesn't call out researchers who have been shown to be untrustworthy in their methods.The next thing I saw was a little boy on a bicycle coming toward me - his head just exploded. I didn't hear that one. I knew then that it was coming from the Tower. The other people all took cover that shielded them from the co-op, but left them exposed to the Tower. They were all killed, shot. I ran to a little retaining wall about three feet high which was near that base of the Tower building, about twenty yards from it. And I laid down there.

Whitley has never promoted himself as the bearer of a unique revelation. He second guesses himself, questioning all of this assumptions. But the core message of this book is of vital importance. We need their help, and they need us, too. They could have taken over our world several times over by now. They have not. At the same time, we cannot bear to be in their presence, even though they desperately long to share life with us. It’s truly a new way of looking at the whole phenomenon, and of life in our universe. In 1987, author Whitley Strieber published Communion about his own close encounter. It was met with brutal skepticism…but not from other close encounter witnesses, who wrote him in the hundreds of thousands, telling of their own experiences. With these overwhelming accounts of alien encounters, Rice University in Houston, Texas, has archived these letters as a testimony that we are not alone.

Strieber, and perhaps his wife Anne, made a cameo appearance in the 2009 movie Race to Witch Mountain. [47]
