The case? A suspicious screen starlet is stabbed on set setting in motion a typically fast-paced and hilarious chain of events that sees a cast of four exceptional comic actors take on multiple roles, sometimes within the same scene.

After he left school, Herbert joined the police force at Scotland Yard, where he served under then-inspector Freddy Snape. Herbert's time there was short lived however, as after many a mishap, including shooting the instructor during weapons training, piecing an identikit picture that lead to the arrest of the Archbishop of Canterbury and piecing another identikit that had the whole police force looking for a man with three eyes and an upside down mouth, he was fired, much to Snape's delight. [3] [4] Mystery Makers: Encourage the children to write a short mystery story or a continuation of the story they watched in the video. The acclaimed stage adaptation of Anthony Horowitz’s laugh-out-loud funny novel of the same name has come to London's Vaults this summer for a strictly limited season. What is The Falcon’s Malteserabout? Tim was born as "Herbert Simple" to Mr and Mrs Simple, and was educated in St Egbert's Comprehensive School. He went to school with Rory McDougal, Janet Rhodes, Libby Goldman, Brenda Blake, Eric Draper, Mark Tyler, Johnny Nadler and Sylvie Binns, with whom he wand won first prize in a knitting competition, beating Johnny Nadler. [2] The wit and sheer pace is exhilarating, the barmy fun never failing to hit the spot. An absolute treat for old and young alike don't miss it. **** What’s On StageThe series currently comprises four full-length novels, four novellas and one short story. A fifth full-length novel entitled The Radius of the Lost Shark is being planned. [1] These books are aimed at a younger readership than Horowitz's young adult novels, such as the Alex Rider series and The Power of Five series. While also having a teenage protagonist and featuring guns, fights, international criminals, and numerous character deaths, The Diamond Brothers series has a more humorous slant through the use of puns, pop culture references and absurd situations. The show we were due to be performing when the pandemic closed the theatres finally hit the road! Another instalment in our hugely popular ‘Crimes…’ series of comedy thrillers. Crimes, Camera, Action whisked the audience to golden-era Hollywood and introduced a new lead detective, a world-weary, hard-boiled private-eye in the mould of Humphrey Bogart: meet Stan Shakespeare. The Falcon’s Malteser is adapted for the stage by original comedy theatre company New Old Friends. Run by husband and wife team Feargus Woods Dunlop and Heather Westwell, their award-winning previous shows include Crimes Against Christmas, Crimes On The Christmas Express, Crimes Under The Sun and Crimes On The Nile. The Double Eagle Has Landed (2011): A short story in which the Diamond Brothers are hired to protect a valuable gold coin. It was published in Guys Read: Thriller, edited by Jon Scieszka. [6] The title is a spoof of the film The Eagle Has Landed.

In The Diamond Brothers in… The Blurred Man (2002), the Diamond Brothers investigate the sudden and mysterious death of a charitable philanthropist who suffers chronic allergies that prevent him from meeting almost anyone in person. The book's title and plot is a spoof of the film The Third Man. Belgian detective extraordinaire, Artemis Arinae, is set to enjoy a holiday cruise along the river Nile when tragedy strikes. All the passengers and staff aboard are suspects, and the murder count is growing, will Arinae’s little grey cells identify the murderer in time? It proved to be very popular, charting at 2 in the Apple iTunes Fiction chart, inside the top 200 overall podcast charts, was featured on BBC Radio 4's Front Row, was named as one of the Top 42 Christmas shows by the i Paper, and even won an OnComm Award. But the most rewarding was seeing the number of listeners and lovely comments from the audience. The show has toured the country twice with a spectacular sell-out success on its 2018 national tour, (under previous title Crimes Under the Sun), repeated in autumn 2019. Crimes On the Coast is a comedy thriller directed by James Farrell (Associate Director - The 39 Steps, West End). The show features four actors playing multiple outrageous characters, and a plot that romps along in the our now trademark inventive style. The Fat Man was a rival of the Falcon (real name Henry von Falkenberg) but he was greedy and wanted his money. He plotted how to get his money. The Falcon had hidden his money away in capital cities in safes, in the form of diamonds, and the Fat Man was especially interested in London safe because it was the biggest sum. The Falcon that Naples mentioned with his dying breath is the alias of the late Henry von Falkenberg, an English-German international criminal who had been living in La Paz, Bolivia, when the police last heard of him. Snape describes him as a great criminal, being involved in all sorts of crimes all over the world (Snape's various locations include Russia, Canada, Holland and England). The Falcon would only deal in one currency – uncut diamonds. Snape and the police suspect that the Falcon had stashes of uncut diamonds in many cities around the world, including London, which was the base of his operations. I got this book as a gift from one of my cousins, and it kind of intrigued me about what Maltesers had to do with detective work, and then I started reading it. In the end, I enjoyed the book very much. Not only does it provide you with questions that are only answered later on, but the comedy written in the book also entertains a lot, despite being small jokes, or just Tim's idiocy.

Which part of the video did you find the most exciting or interesting? Why did it catch your attention? In 1991, The Diamond Brothers, a six-part television series written and directed by Horowitz himself, was broadcast on ITV. [14] The series is based on the book South by South East, which Horowitz claimed he wrote after he had written the television series, effectively making South by South East a novelisation of the television series rather than the novel acting as the primary source of inspiration. Both McLinden and Dale reprised their respective film roles, which makes the television series act as a sequel to Just Ask for Diamond. However, unlike the film adaptation, the series has never been released on any home media, and it was also never rebroadcast. New Old Friends have been creating work since 2008. If you would like more information on any of the shows below please don't hesitate to get in touch. In The Diamond Brothers in… The French Confection (2002), the Diamond Brothers win a trip to Paris thanks to a French strawberry yoghurt, but accidentally get caught up in a drug smuggling ring and end up being forced to team up with the Sûreté to take them down.
