About this deal

Read on for three different perspectives on The Glucose Goddess Method from real people who've tried it. Our testers Rowena Hutton, Ronald (1993). The Pagan Religions of the Ancient British Isles: Their Nature and Legacy. John Wiley & Sons. p.320. ISBN 9780631189466. This well researched biography focuses on the "post-childhood" Marilyn Monroe. It is centered around the major movies in which she starred, her two marriages, and the many, many (I mean many) love affairs and sexual flings that connected her post-childhood years to her movie star fame and to her untimely demise.

While I don't believe most of what's written in this book but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy it. And that doesn't mean that I don't find certain things in this book to be very very likely the truth. While they loved a wide range of the recipes from the book, breakfast was a particular favourite. Rowena's favourites were the Two Egg Omelette and Apple With Some Clothes On, while Braden and Sophie loved the fruit/yoghurt-based dishes.

A captivating debut! Girl, Goddess, Queen is an incredibly fun and wonderfully crafted reimagining of a beloved myth - bringing to life timeless gods, the complex intimacy of family bonds, a fierce protagonist, and a passionate slow-burn romance.' - Sue Lynn Tan You’re right about her not being easy to know. One sees her with intensity—sees her more than one sees almost anyone; but then one discovers that that isn’t knowing her.’ Davis, Robert A., 'The Origin, Evolution, and Function of the Myth of the White Goddess in the Writings of Robert Graves' (unpublished PhD, University of Stirling, 1987) [ British Library copy: BLDSC DX212513]

Some Neopagans have been bemused and upset by the scholarly criticism that The White Goddess has received in recent years, [18] while others have appreciated its poetic insight but never accepted it as a work of historical veracity. [19] Likewise, a few scholars find some value in Graves's ideas; Michael W. Pharand, though quoting earlier criticisms, states that "Graves's theories and conclusions, outlandish as they seemed to his contemporaries (or may appear to us), were the result of careful observation." [20] In The White Goddess, Graves proposed a hypothetical Gallic tree goddess, Druantia, who has become somewhat popular with contemporary Neopagans. Druantia is an archetype of the eternal mother as seen in the evergreen boughs. Her name is believed to be derived from the Celtic word for oak trees, * drus or * deru. [7] She is known as "Queen of the Druids". She is a goddess of fertility for both plants & humans, ruling over sexual activities & passion. She also rules protection of trees, knowledge, creativity. We meet Athene, who sprang fully formed from her father's head: goddess of war and wisdom, guardian of Athens. We run with Artemis, goddess of hunting and protector of young girls (apart from those she decides she wants as a sacrifice). Here is Aphrodite, goddess of sex and desire - there is no deity more determined and able to make you miserable if you annoy her. And then there's the queen of all the Olympian gods: Hera, Zeus's long-suffering wife, whose jealousy of his dalliances with mortals, nymphs and goddesses lead her to wreak elaborate, vicious revenge on those who have wronged her. She did originate something. She was the first person I know of who was truly unconventional. She was a sixties person before it started—way before it started—like ten years.’ Please note that these Goddess books are specifically about that – Goddesses. There are many other books I could recommend about women’s spirituality, the Divine Feminine and more, but it is the Goddesses I am asked most about and so I’ve chosen to focus on those here.

One of the things I get asked most often is what books I would recommend about Goddesses, the Divine Feminine and being a Priestess. Reading is one of my life’s great joys and so I hope this list of my Top Ten Goddess Books is of inspiration to as many of you as possible. The White Goddess: a Historical Grammar of Poetic Myth (London: Faber & Faber) [Corr. 2nd ed. also issued by Faber in 1948] [US ed.= New York, Creative Age Press, 1948]I knew nothing of Marilyn Monroe other than the wild speculation surrounding her death, her singing Happy Birthday to President Kennedy and standing over a grate with her dress blowing up. And then, afterward, having departed Marilyn's home (most certainly) and the room in which she died (most likely), RFK, the good family man, went to Catholic Mass the next morning.
