Michael Connelly was born in 1956 in Philadelphia, PA, where he remained until the age of 12 when he moved with his family to Florida, which is where he grew up. I did enjoy Rachel Walling, most of the time, but what she sees in McEvoy is completely beyond me.... Some supporting characters were good while others were laughable - right out of high school *facepalm* Michael Connelly must have been the very first author whose books were also filmed at real police stations, this case at three LA ones. In 2003, another Bosch novel, Lost Light, was published. With this book, a CD was released, Dark Sacred Night, the Music of Harry Bosch, featuring some of the jazz music that both Connelly and the fictional character Bosch listen to. [3] While writing Connelly listens exclusively to instrumental jazz, though, because it does not have intrusive vocals, and because the improvisational playing inspires his writing. [2] The Narrows, published in 2004, was a sequel to The Poet but featured Bosch instead of McEvoy. [3] Together with this book, a DVD was released called Blue Neon Night: Michael Connelly's Los Angeles, in which film Connelly presents some of the places in Los Angeles that are frequently featured in his books. An interesting tidbit Michael Connelly revealed in an interview was that he found the location where Harry Bosch would live while Michael was investigating a murder during his time as a reporter. This is not to say that he doesn’t show compassion for the victims he comes across. That’s why he’s doing his best to solve all the murder cases that come across his desk – and even some that were either taken away from him or simply are not his cases at all.
