About this deal

So, both models come with a place to store brush heads, but the compartment with the 9000 is better than the stand offered with the Smart 6.

Please note. Every effort is made to ensure the key differences listed are correct, but these differences are subject to change without notice. Products and the box contents can be changed without notice and different variants can exist. The reality is that you could use any mode on the brush to clean your tongue just ending the clean sooner. Although the speed and number of oscillations will be different. Put these two brushes side by side and the differences between them are much harder to tell, they look almost identical, however there are some subtle differences. The Pro 2 2000 comes with a CrossAction, Sensi UltraThin or 3D White brush head compared to the CrossAction of the Pro 1000.

I don’t have the figures of the number of oscillations and pulsations on the older Pro 5000 available to give confirmation of the power difference. And add to this, there have been various iterations of the 5000 over the years, so it would be important to find out the exact one to say 100%. Both brushes come with thestandard ‘Daily Clean’ mode. They both then have a Sensitive mode. It is only the Pro 3 3000 that has the ‘Whitening’ mode. All three electric toothbrushes come with two forms of pressure sensor. A visible light that flashes red when you are pressing too hard and also a sensor in the brush head that slows down pulsations and oscillations if you are pressing too hard. These are both critical to prevent gum recession and tooth wear. Scrubbing the teeth hard and fast doesn’t clean them any better. Long term it will actually damage them. You have a dedicated cleaning mode button too. Press this to change cleaning modes on the 9000. With the 5000 you have to press the power button multiple times.

Brush heads designed with dentists

For the majority of people, myself included the Oral-B Pro 3 3500 is the toothbrush to go for. It offers a balance of cleaning performance and features at a price most will find affordable. There are no differences between all three of the electric toothbrushes. They share many of the same components in terms of battery life. 4) Portability: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500 In my hands-on testing I achieved a little over 10 days with the 1000, but a whole 3 extra days with the 2000. The Pro 2000 removes plaque with what Oral-B describes as a “3D cleaning motion”. This 3D motion refers to the 3 movements made by the cleaning head as it cleans the teeth. The 3 movements are – You can normally see it out of the corner of your eye, but it’s easier to spot if you brush in front of a mirror.
