About this deal

It's official... Mariana Zapata can write anything and make it epic! This book was so different than most of her other reads, but it was all MZ at the same time. I loved this slow burn paranormalish romance! Enter Alexander, a brooding force of nature with extraordinary abilities. His bold honesty adds a humorous twist, meshing flawlessly with Gracie's sunshine personality. If you like a Slowburn Romance, Grumpy/Sassy, amazing banter and a little bit of spice then I highly recommend you read this book!!’ This story was incredibly unique, different than anything I've ever read before. I'm so conflicted because it was also kinda boring.

i must say, i’m glad MZ didn’t release a single promo for this book prior to releasing it because i may have actually disliked it It felt like the beginning dragged. Like, a lot. Particularly when Gracie's past shows up to throw a wrench in Alex's recovery. That whole scenario got old way before anything happened to change it. I wasn't tempted to put the book down forever, mind, but I did go and do something fun for a bit just to alleviate my mood. I have no idea how long that section actually was but it felt like it was the entire book long for a while, there. When Gracie met the grump’ is the newest story of the writer Mariana Zapata. A writer whose books I really love, so I find it hard to say that this book was a bit of a disappointment for me. It left me with mixed feelings and thoughts about the story. I think my biggest disappointment was that the story had a chance to become one of my favourite of hers (just like ‘All Rhodes lead here’) but it didn’t. Because I don’t want to spoil the story for new readers (because I think that you have to discover all the secrets for yourself) I will try my best to explain what I liked and didn’t like without giving away any spoilers.

Which perhaps was a blessing as I went into this expecting it to be...less than a favorite MZ read. As for Gracie, her remarkable tolerance for Alexander is truly astounding. She possesses the patience of a saint! Additionally, the banter between them was so entertaining that it often left me in fits of uncontrollable laughter. Alex’s family rallies around Gracie, doing everything they can to help her get her life restarted. They take her under their wing, all the while Alex is doing his best to seemingly distance himself from her.PDF / EPUB File Name: When_Gracie_Met_The_Grump_-_Mariana_Zapata.pdf, When_Gracie_Met_The_Grump_-_Mariana_Zapata.epub

I'm going to go with 4½ stars that I'm rounding up despite the slog in the beginning. Once past that part, I had a hard time putting it down and the banter was tons of fun. I liked the book, I enjoyed reading it and as always, MZ’s writing style worked for me. But it wasn’t only the plot that was new, I found the slowburn relationship started too late and by the time they reach the end it wasn’t burning as it always happens with her books, and I felt the world she created wasn’t complete and the plot, apart from the romance wasn’t fully developed. I must admit I wasn’t fan of her inner monologues, and I tried to overlook them for more than half of the book because they were getting on my nerves from being a tad repetitive sometimes(there’s only so many times you can tell me how hot and perfect he is without being annoying, even if he is a super hero with superior genes, sorry), and although the slowburn was slow to start ( very slow, believe me) and we usually see glimpses of their romance before in her other books, I was kind of ready for it so it wasn’t a big deal. I also missed some more details about the ‘superheroes’, there was an explanation but not much. There was also not much action in the story, after all the fear of Gracie, the ending was a bit of an anti-climax for me, it left me a bit dissatisfied. I missed an epilogue too.

Officially Mariana Zapata is capable of writing anything and making it epic, this book is very different from her other publications but always staying true to her style. This book in particular was so different to all her others. It was a paranormal superhero romance. What. It was so different but also so similar because it had Miss Z’s touch all over it yk. This book was fun, I enjoyed it a lot, but there was some stuff I didn’t like. But it was still fun.
