Southern Charm' Star Olivia Flowers Shades 'RHOBH' Star Crystal Kung Minkoff After BravoCon: "I Thought She Was Rude" Nope! A lot of you seem to be wondering this, based on today’s Google Trends. And we understand why you might think that Your Place or Mine is based on a book, given the fact that it’s starring and produced by Reese Witherspoon, who has a keen eye for adapting novels featured in her famed book club. And it’s true that Netflix also recently acquired a movie via Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production company, which is based on a book—Sarah Haywood’s bestselling novel The Cactus. There also are a few books out there named Your Place or Mine, but they are not the inspiration for the movie. Stream It Or Skip It: ‘Oppenheimer’ on VOD, Christopher Nolan's Sprawling, Urgent Three-Hour Nuclear Biopic Taylor Swift Made A Surprise Appearance On ‘Dancing With The Stars’ For This Week’s "Eras" Themed Night: “Sending You Guys All My Love” This is my very first Portia Macintosh book. My curiosity is filled and I was entertained - that’s all I was asking for during this week between holidays! Those who love romcoms, friends-to-lovers and forced proximity tropes will love this one.

When Serena and Ziggy are both offered a place to stay by their respective friends, neither realizes the other will be there. Ziggy is messy, has his friends over often and has claimed the best bedroom for himself. Serena puts up with it as much as she can but then decides the only way she will win is if she tries to push Ziggy out, embarking on a war between the two to see who will leave first. I was hoping that the romance would somehow make the characters more redeemable to me, but it didn’t at all. All of the romances in this book seemed to be purely physical. Most of the characters don’t talk to each other like normal functioning adults, and the only thing the characters cared about was banging each other. None of the characters had chemistry with each other, too, which made every romantic scene really uncomfortable for me. It was disappointing.

On top of this, Serena’s discovery that connects her to Diana was as much of a surprise to Serena as it was to me. I think it would have helped if the blurb actually referenced this because I thought the story would just be about the conflict between her and Ziggy. There were a couple of elements that were glossed over from MacIntosh which I thought slightly disappointing (what on earth did that discovered contraption do?!) and I could not decide whether this was supposed to be a main or sub plot. Either way, it added a different part to the story, even if I was far more interested in Serena and Ziggy’s antics.

Savannah Chrisley Shares Thanksgiving Update That Her Parents Todd And Julie Chrisley Have Been Granted “Oral Arguments” By The Appeals Court: “Thanksgiving Win!” Serena and Ziggy move into their friends house who are going on an extended honeymoon. Serena is a friend of the bride and has recently lost her job and her home when her boss, who also happened to be her friend and landlord, passed away. Ziggy is a friend of the groom and is part of a band and is struggling to get along with his band mates so when the opportunity to share the house while the happy couple travels for a few months they begrudgingly agree to share it and take care of some of the minor repairs since they have no place else to go. Between graduating and becoming a published author, Julie taught English as a foreign language, and for several years was a reader for Oxford University Press’s Children’s Books. This book was fun. I enjoyed the pranks the two played on each other but found it hard to believe when they became lovey dovey. One moment they were ready to kill each other with jokes, the next they were being affectionate with everything else forgotten. I believe the storyline would have been a bit more believable if there had been more of a build up to the relationship. I was surprised how much more there was going on in this book - don't let the synopsis fool you! There are a few other storylines thrown in that make it all that more addictive. If you're after a laugh out loud romcom with a bit more depth, you should consider giving this one a go. Serena finds herself out of a job and a place to live when her employer Diana, (who is more like a mother to her) dies suddenly. Diana's children decide to see the tearoom where Serena worked and everyone is let go. As Serena lived in a float over the business, she was left without a home as well. Talk about having a lot on your plate. Dealing with the loss of someone close to her and being out of a home, Ugh! Plus, her personal life....

I liked the key characters in this story and enjoyed the fun of the narrative. However, there were parts that could have been developed further to make this even more enjoyable. I think I particularly liked the surprising direction that the story took but wanted to see more focus on Serena and Ziggy in the first place, especially as this was implied to be the main element to the book. Despite these criticisms, I still thought this book gave some great escapism and was a perfect distraction from a rainy weekend. I also had an issue with the author’s writing style. I’m sure some people will like it, but it felt like there was a lot of quirks to the writing that I wasn’t fond of. For example, there was an excessive use of ellipses at the end of chapters and there were forced moments where the narrator seemed to attempt to talk to the audience. The cheating plot line was beyond contrived, so after her stupid plans to try to get the fiancée (Lacey) to break up with Dean she goes I’m worth more than this drama and dumps him, but DOESNT TELL Lacey? Way to make the lead seem like a self centred arse.
