About this deal
Got some Polar Seal yesterday from a local Halfords and used it this morning. I used the recommended 4 capfuls and 200ml of water in the lance and it just ran out before I finished covering the car so next time I’ll add 225ml of water. I didn’t expect there to be a scent but as I was spraying it over the bodywork, the smell was very pleasant. Immediately upon the PS hitting the panels you could see the coating was very hydrophobic, when rinsing off the beading of water was some of the best I have seen, leaving a very glossy finish too. On the bottle it says do not apply more than once a month, if that water behaviour and protection continues for anywhere near a month then I think Autoglym have nailed it. Both will create a protective layer for your car’s paint from UV rays, water and other contaminants but do not last as long as synthetic waxes. You’ll typically need to wax your car every six weeks if you use carnauba wax.
Paste wax will take the longest to apply but will give the best overall coverage. It will provide a much deeper shine and finish but can easily eat up an entire afternoon. Most detailers will recommend using a clay bar first if you're wanting to apply wax to your car. This will keep your paintwork free of any contaminants so you get a better overall finish. If you want to know more about this process, we've written a guide to clay barring. Cleaning enthusiasts who attend Concours d'Elegance events get terribly in-depth on the subject. That's fine, but their recommendations are frequently too expensive for regular Joes. But don’t worry, we know of effective car wax that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. Despite it being a spray wax, it has lasted for 2 months. This is really impressive and definitely worth the money. Keeping your car exterior clean is a great way to take care of the aesthetic of your car as well as its longevity. Follow our step by step guide. The application is also slightly different. The first time it is applied, it is done on a wet car. The ceramic wax is buffed off and the car is dried. Subsequent applications of the wax can be sprayed on, and then rinsed off. This is actually a nice and easy process. Following these steps will extend the lifespan of the Ceramic Wax. An award winning product that’s proved its worth over many years, Rapid Aqua Wax is the perfect standby and one well worth keeping in your car at all times
Pure carnauba wax is yellow in colour and expensive but will give a deep shine and excellent protection. White carnauba wax contains additives including beeswax and turpentine and is cheaper to buy but will still protect your paintwork. Both types are available in paste, spray and liquid form. div>
