About this deal

Serratus ventralis: originates on the transverse processes of the last 5 cervical vertebrae and inserts on the scapula. Its function is to support the trunk and depress the scapula. It is innervated by the ventral branches of the cervical spinal nerves. Popliteus: originates on the lateral condyle of the femur and inserts on the tibia. It acts to rotate the leg medially. It is innervated by the tibial nerve. The second tarsal is another small bone that extends towards the planter side only a short distance. This tarsal articulate proximally to the central tarsal. Again, it articulates with the third tarsal bone laterally, the first tarsal medially, and the second metatarsal distally.

Gastrocnemius: originates on the supracondylar tuberosities of the femur and inserts on the tuber calcanei. It acts to extend the tarsus and flex the stifle. It is innervated by the tibial nerve.a b c Jennifer Davis (1998). "Dr. P's Dog Training: Vision in Dogs & People". Archived from the original on 9 February 2015 . Retrieved 20 February 2015. The dog's muzzle size will vary with the breed. Dogs with medium muzzles, such as the German Shepherd Dog, are called mesocephalic and dogs with a pushed in muzzle, such as the Pug, are called brachycephalic. Today's toy breeds have skeletons that mature in only a few months, while giant breeds, such as the Mastiffs, take 16 to 18 months for the skeleton to mature. Dwarfism has affected the proportions of some breeds' skeletons, as in the Basset Hound. The flexor digitorum superficialis muscle lies on the flexor digitorum profundus, tibialis caudalis, and popliteus muscle. A great part of the proximal extremity of the flexor digitorum superficialis muscle is covered by the head of the gastrocnemius muscle. Long digital extensor: originates from the extensor fossa of the femur and inserts on the extensor processes of the distal phalanges. It acts to extend the digits and flex the tarsus. It is innervated by the peroneal nerve. Do not leave your dog unattended for a long period of time while wearing the brace: your dog could try to remove it by biting or scratching the brace. You will see two nearly sagittal, arciform grooves on the distal end of the tibia bone. These are the distal articular surface in the tibia and are designed to receive the ridges of the trochlea of the talus.
