About this deal

Although the suits have different names Emotions (Cups), Inspiration (Wands), Voices (Swords), and Materials (Pentacles), that doesn’t mean that the cards have different meanings than your average tarot cards.

They kept the symbolisms almost identical while putting more emphasis on important elements, making these tarot cards easier to understand and use. The Modern Way’s Major Arcana Cards For one, it is easy to understand based on the imagery alone. Take the Six of Swords for example. You can see just by looking at this card that one is (or will soon) be leaving a person, place, or situation behind. The Golden Tarot is a mix of the imagery of Visconti-Sforza, the Rider-Waite and some additions of its own. It has a very Renaissance feel in costume and decoration, and smooths the edges of the traditional symbolism to make a gentle, attractive tarot. Take a moment to think about your favorite card. Which is the most important to you? 6. FIND A SIZE THAT FITS This is only for the real GOT and TAROT lovers out there. What a perfect intersection of our two favorites.I have small hands. This is something I never really considered a problem until started reading tarot. Once you feel comfortable as a reader, you consider venturing out a bit. The Everday Witchis a cool option for those wanting to embrace the witch within. These images speak to me of a truth that is timeless, and hope that flowers even in the darkest conditions. It is my hope that they speak to you as well.

The cards of the Golden Tarot have been collaged entirely from artwork of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance period, and in symbolism are fundamentally based on the Rider-Waite. The cards have similarities to the general layout and major symbolic elements of Colman-Smith’s drawings, but have been re-interpreted in the totally different artistic style of late medieval and early Renaissance. Finally, you’ll want to ensure the cards that you buy are of high quality so that you can use them for years to come. While writing this article, I linked my personal knowledge of tarot with a great deal of research. It took me a few readings to get used to the names, but now the cards resonate so well with my intuition.

The suits (Wands, Pentacles, Swords, and Cups) correspond to their own unique areas of life and astrological elements. Wands symbolize passion and inspiration (corresponding with the fire element), Pentacles represent money and physical realities (corresponding with the earth element), Swords depict intellectual intrigues (corresponding with the air element), and Cups illustrate emotional matters (corresponding with the water element). These suits reveal which spheres of influence are being activated, offering guidance on how to best manage any circumstances at hand. How can I get started reading the cards? The illustrations have been recolored to great effect and it presents some innovative ideas with his treatment of the Pips and Court cards.

Golden Tarot Review by Jean-Michel David

These cards are not only gorgeous, but they also photograph beautifully with realistic figures set among lush and magical landscapes and settings. Golden Tarot is a compilation of collages from artwork of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. It comes with an accessible guidebook that helps you how to embrace the gifts of the tarot and integrate them into your life. The tarot cards are larger than I expected, but they are easy to shuffle, which is nice. The artwork is incredible and having such vibrant, yet detailed pictures help beginners interpret the cards better. The printed card meanings are fairly rudimentary - a description of basic symbolism and short phrase meanings for upright and reversed positioning – but are enough to give the Tarot novice something to work with. The minor arcana interpretations also have an extra paragraph which explains the meaning of multiple Aces or whatever in a spread. (The same information is repeated for all matching suit cards, all the Aces, for example.) Readers who are familiar with Rider-Waite images and associated meanings shouldn’t need the book for card meanings beyond the initial perusal.

Meaning: Knowledge is power. Empowerment through the understanding of our own abilities and the world around us. Intelligence and initiative. Pragmatism, the ability to make the best of a situation. A risk must be taken, and a choice made - this is the time for a new start, the beginning of something significant. Each Major Arcana Tarot card represents a powerful archetype, so you may wonder, “What Tarot card am I?” There’s one specific Tarot card that is your Tarot Birth Card -- it’s connected to your birth date and acts as a reminder of the unique power within you. Discover the rich symbolism in your Tarot Birth Card and how it acts as your secret weapon... Where to buy Tarot cards There is an interesting side note here: Kat uses a Tarot card each day as her computer desktop wallpaper for the day. What a marvelous idea! Being a Capricorn, and not liking change all that well, I think my computer could be assured of retaining its wallpaper for at least a month! The art is so detailed that if you are a beginner reader you will be able to figure out what the card means by the details in the image. On the other hand, these cards have been used to convey the teaching of the now-deceased Zen Master, Osho. As such, the cards’ meanings are described in a way that makes you feel you’re being lectured, and often certain concepts or actions seem like statements that not many people would agree with unless you’re an Osho Zen supporter.

Remember that you are the one who will be using your cards day in and day out, so you’ll want to choose based on your intuition, artistic eye, and other personal preferences while still considering things like sizing and quality.
