About this deal

The Google Pixel 7 is rated at a maximum charging speed of 30W and, in my testing, I found it went from zero to 50% in just over 30 minutes. It also supports 20W wireless charging via any Qi-compatible charger and it can reverse power share with other devices such as the Google Pixel Buds Pro. It can’t charge the new Pixel Watch, though, since that devices doesn’t support wireless charging. Google Pixel 7 review: Display Software improvements include an expanded photo unblur mode, including the ability to digitally improve blurry faces in pictures taken on your old phone in the Google Photos app. Night Sight shooting is also two times faster than before – this makes a huge difference when shooting in low light, taking just a second to capture an image. When purchasing a device graded as ‘Like New’, you can expect to pay more than the same device in ‘Good’ condition, as a ‘Like New’ device will display much less cosmetic wear and appear exactly as new, just without the box. Every Google Pixel device that we sell is fully tested and expertly refurbished; our grading system only refers to the cosmetic condition of the device and has zero impact on system performance. Those who are seeking out savings, then, must choose the device in a condition fitting for their price range. Photography has always been the name of the game for previous Google phones and the Pixel 7 is no different. However, it’s a little odd that the hardware hasn’t really changed this year, with the 50MP, f/1.9 main camera returning alongside the 12MP, f/2.2 ultrawide sensor.

The Google Pixel 7 has an IP68 dust/water resistance rating, meaning that while the device is not technically waterproof it can still withstand significant exposure to water, up to 1.5M for 30 minutes. You'll need to make sure your phone software is up to date and 5G is enabled on your giffgaff account. Without a doubt, the biggest upgrade for the Pixel 7 is the Tensor G2 chip, which is the second version of Google's own in-house silicon. Early benchmarks indicate a fairly minor 10% bump in performance versus the last iteration overall, but graphical tasks could see a 20% increase (playing on the Pixel's strength in computational photography and gaming). Power isn't everything, however, as improved chip architecture should result in better power efficiency and heat management. Battery life was one of the most commonly reported frustrations with the Pixel 6 so this is a welcome and sensible upgrade from Google.

Pixel 7 with Brighter 90Hz OLED Display

The main difference from last year’s device is in the camera, and in particular, the selfie camera which now has been upped for both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to a 10.8MP front camera. Other features also include a Macro Focus (for Pixel 7 Pro), higher zoom resolutions (30x zoom for Pixel 7 Pro and 8x zoom for Pixel 7) as well as real tone and movie motion blur, which will make your photography skills a lot better at capturing distant shots with more realistic colours and less wobble when filming. Released October 6th 2022, the Google Pixel 7 is a top of the line flagship smartphone from Google, the first in the acclaimed Pixel 7 line.

The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro launch has brought some interesting and incremental developments to the Google flagship device. Speaking of which, the camera on the Pixel 7 Pro has also seen some fairly hefty improvements. The camera on the Pro device was already strong but Google has been focusing on bringing it up to speed with the latest Apple and Samsung devices. The camera now supports a 5x optical zoom (biggest zoom on any device, outside of the Galaxy S22 Ultra's 10x zoom) and a hefty 30x digital zoom. That's a marked increase from the previous Google Pixel 6 Pro, which topped out at 20x. There's also a new 'Movie Mode' and 'Macro Focus' mode, the latter of which is exclusive to the Pixel 7 Pro. When it comes to buying a new smartphone, you are presented with two options: SIM-free or a contract. Both are great options, each with their own benefits. HDR, Panorama, Slow Motion, Time Lapse, Night Mode, AI Features, Scene Detection, Macro, Pro Mode, Bokeh Mode, Portrait Mode, Automatic Mode, Red Eye Correction, Self Timer, Burst Mode The 6.3-inch display featured on the Google Pixel 7 is a standout feature, with a bright, crisp, OLED panel that is full of contrast and a high definition 1080 x 2400 resolution. The refresh rate of the screen is 90Hz, over the industry standard, so sure to deliver a superb level of smoothness when using the device. The company did mention that all cameras can now record at up to 4K resolution at 60fps, and this makes a huge difference to video quality, especially if you often record using the selfie camera. A new feature called Dual allows you to record video on both the front and rear cameras simultaneously, too.
