In tribute to His Majesty The King’s lifetime of public service, The Big Help Out will encourage people to come out and support the causes that matter to them.The Big Help Out will be held on Monday, 8th May 2023 and is being organised by The Together Coalition and a wide range of partners such as The Scouts, the Royal Voluntary Service and faith groups from across the United Kingdom. The Big Help Out will highlight the positive impact volunteering has on communities across the nation. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has confirmed that one-off events such as street parties aren’t usually considered food businesses, so there are no forms to fill in. However, you must ensure that any food provided is safe to eat.
Essentially, it’s all about getting together with community members, neighbours, friends and families around the villages, towns and cities of the nation over the bank holiday weekend. The centrepiece of any party is, of course, the edible spread itself, with food acting as a great vehicle to bring people together and enable everyone to contribute. Absolutely everyone is invited to celebrate the Coronation! The event is sure to be special for many British people and members of the commonwealth nations who support the royal family, but you don’t have to be a royalist to get involved with the Coronation. Just like the fun of the Jubilee last summer opportunity for a party and a chance to socialise and mix with different people. Meanwhile, a quiche, made with spinach, broad beans, cheese and tarragon, has been “personally chosen” by the King and Queen to mark their coronation. It was selected in discussion with royal chef Mark Flanagan, who devised it, and is felt to be a “good sharing dish” to take to a Coronation Big Lunch as it can be served hot or cold and is easily adapted to suit a wide variety of tastes and dietary requirements.
