Crisp and tart with a floral sweetness, we found ourselves sipping this on our porch as the sun set on a couple of wonderful warm evenings the past few weeks. Economical – fancy jams with booze are pricy and making your own jam is cheaper and small batch jam making is very economical and a great way to use up extra fruit and any bargains you can find in the supermarket. There are very few ingredients in this simple gin and strawberry jam and there is no pectin involved.

Serve this strawberry-flavoured liqueur ice cold in a little frozen shot glasses for a really simple cooling treat. I often keep a small bottle of my strawberry gin in the freezer.
