About this deal

Not pictured is the giant pile of Tabletop Adapters I’ve had to buy when Jon Kilcullen asked if the base size was correct for Plaguebearers (Pro tip, it wasn’t) On the bright side, it’s now easy to see which model belongs to which squad of 20 or 30 Plaguebearers based on the ring colour.

Ceramite White: FFFFFF ● - Averland Sunset: FCB825 ● - Jokaero Orange: EE3823 ● - Mephiston Red: 991115 http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?s=c770bc029dd218be5d17fff14fecefeb&showtopic=17678&st=0&p=266494&#entry266494The skin on the sergeant was done with Elf flesh mixed with a little Codex grey, highlight up with some bleached bone. Shaded with flesh wash. The last step is adding aTechnical paint of your choice to the base. Because this can take around an hour or so to dry, this is the perfect time to start working on other models from the box! The armor plates get edge highligting with Sotek Green, completing the classic Drukhari look, albeit with a more blue tint. Finishing touches. I highlight the scale mail with Ironbreaker and use it to do the rivets on the armor plates and some edge highlighting on the gold bits. I also clean up the shoulder pads a bit, edge highlighting them with Reaper Pure White and doing a bit of a gradient highlight on them from Pure White to Grey Seer to make the white not so obvious. After this it’s Astrogranite for the base drybrushed with Celestra Grey. Released in late 1998 shortly before 3rd edition launched, the metal Chaos Cultists are a bit of a rarity among GW metal models. In their older paint schemes their flesh had a darker, grey and slightly purple tone. I’ve tried to replicate this by basecoating with Grey Seer and then painting the skin with Apothecary White and then highlight with Reaper Ghost White. The robes are painted with Naggaroth Night and highlighted with a mix of Xereus Purple and Reaper Pure White.

Flayed One Flesh: CBB48B ● - Krieg Khaki: B7AD78 ● - Blue Horror: A2BAD2 ● - Lugganath Orange: F89E86Explore the brand new edition of Warhammer 40,000 with White Dwarf 490 . This issue introduces the White Dwarf Bunker, a worldwide gaming club – we’ll have more info on that this week. There’s also a gorgeous gallery of vibrant and verdant Sylvaneth from the staff, as well as the final part of the Grombrindal serial by Chris Thursten.* Drazhar is a beautiful model, maybe my favorite in the entire game, and was an absolute joy to paint as well. I won’t talk about him too extensively here, since I already wrote an article for Goonhammer about some techniques I used to paint him. If you are curious though, you can read that article here . Long story short, Apothecary White and Tesseract Glow are your friends. In terms of building the models, things were pretty easy going, but there are a couple of takeaways I’d want to use if I was doing them again:
