About this deal
Both employees and self-employed workers will pay less in National Insurance from next year, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has announced in today's Autumn Statement.
One disgruntled shopper said the prices being paid showed PG Tips had made a mis-step in putting the line out to pasture. At the time, owner Lipton Teas & Infusions said the decision was under review, but the products – which made up less than 1% of its UK portfolio – have not returned to shelves since. I wasn't hopeful but thought I'd give them a go and was even more disappointed than I thought id be.PG Tips also faced ire from consumers earlier this year over complaints its newly biodegradable pyramid teabags broke apart too easily. PG Tips has discontinued its instant tea granules after changes to manufacturing negatively affected their taste. Here at Vending Superstore, we are huge fans of a good cup of tea. Whether you’re sitting down with your feet up after a long day or just waking up, nothing can beat the perfect brew. Following changes at a manufacturing level, our PureTea Granules, which account for less than 1% of our total portfolio, no longer hit the high taste standards our consumers know and love,” said Liam McNamara,UK&I general manager at PG Tips brand owner Lipton Teas & Infusions. It initially tastes like PG for a millisecond and then it's just gone and you're left with the bland flavour you get when someone who doesn't know how to make a decent brew makes you a brew.
The Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has today (Wednesday 22 November) announced a range of tax, benefits and savings measures. We round up the key announcements and what they mean for you.
