The viewer can then choose for Darius to distract the dinosaurs, allowing the others to enter Hal Brimford's underground bunker. Carnotaurus appeared in the novel The Lost World by Michael Crichton (1995) as a color-changing chameleon-like dinosaur, but this ability is purely speculative. It also appeared in a level of the video game adaptation of the film. In the ride DINOSAUR at Disney's Animal Kingdom, a Carnotaurus is encountered four times, in addition to a Carnotaurus sculpture appearing on the sign for the attraction, and the animal's presence can be felt early on in the queue. A number of autapomorphies (distinguishing features) can be found in the skull, including the pair of horns and the very short and deep skull. The maxilla had excavations above the promaxillary fenestra, which would have been excavated by the antorbital air sinus (air passages in the snout). The nasolacrimal duct, which transported eye fluid, exited on the medial (inner) surface of the lacrimal through a canal of uncertain function. Carnotaurus can live in pairs, and tolerate up to twenty other dinosaurs in its enclosure of various species. Like other similarly sized carnivores, such as Albertosaurus and Baryonyx, Carnotaurus are able to hunt small and medium-sized herbivores, and engage in death duels with ceratopsians, ankylosaurids and other large carnivores. In terms of their preferred habitat, Carnotaurus prefer large areas of grassland and a small forested area in their enclosure, and eat from both the Carnivore and Live Bait Feeders. Toro was the third male main dinosaur antagonist introduced in the franchise, the first being the Spinosaurus and second being the Indoraptor. Plus, Toro is the only Carnotaurus who has a confirmed gender, with the other two Carnotauruses, their genders are never mentioned. Had this been kept in the finalized version, this would marked the first time Toro had successfully killed a human, as well as being the first Carnotaurus in the film canon to do so. Toro exhibited an unwavering determination to hunt down the campers, persistently pursuing them until he was ultimately defeated by their use of explosives, which caused him to injure himself. When Toro first encountered the campers, it is possible that he experienced significant pain upon seeing them. This encounter likely made him realize that the campers, as a collective group, possessed the ability to defend themselves. Scientists have found lots of skin impressions for this dinosaur, so we know that it had scales over much of its body. It's unlikely that Carnotaurus or its relatives had feathers - no evidence of them has ever been found. After its appearance in DINOSAUR, the Carnotaurus would later appear in other media; it has also appeared in the 2016 animated Universal movie, The Land Before Time XIV: Journey of the Brave, as well as the 2018 live-action Universal movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
