About this deal

Cupuaçu butter’s moisturizing capacity is long-lasting, too. It has been found to keep skin moisturized for up to eight hours after application, and that’s without leaving a heavy or oily residue (but we’ll get into that later). Its hydrophilic properties make it up to four times more effective than shea butter at sealing in moisture. This moisture-rich benefit will help increase your skin’s overall hydration, for improved elasticity, treatment of injury or blemishes, and more. To learn more about the ingredients used in this formulation, including why they’re included and what you can substitute them with, please visit the Humblebee & Me Encyclopedia. It doesn’t have everything in it yet, but there’s lots of good information there! If I have not given a specific substitution suggestion in this list please look up the ingredient in the encyclopedia before asking.

I’ve worked with both, and while the unrefined stuff is really neat, its smell can be… not great. I’d probably go with refined. Amazing, silky, almost silicone-like finish on the skin. Fantastically moisturizing and smooth. Not greasy, even when used directly on the skin (in small amounts, at least!). Predominately, youthfulskinis taut and supple. This is because yourskinhas an abundance of collagen and elastin. These two proteins, collagen givesskin its structure, and elastin allows yourskinto stretch. And as you age you produce less and less and this is why theskinlooses its bounce andelasticity. Cupuacu butter’s high stearic and oleic acid levels make it a strong emollient which helps improve skin elasticity and prevents premature skin aging. Regular application of the butter after a shower enhances the skin’s collagen production and makes it look younger also. 11. SPF I’ve been using Shea since 2004 ish, but only started playing with Cupuaçu around 2017. I use Shea butter in my face creams and Cupuaçu in the night balm. Why? I was experimenting with a solid serum type texture and Cupuaçu was recently available. There are so many fantastic raw ingredients -and it’s addictive to keep trying new ones. Keep in mind that you may tolerate cupuaçu butter differently depending on your skin type. For example, if you have oily skin, opt for using it only on drier body parts, such as your hands, feet, and elbows ( 5). May keep your hair soft and healthy

Cupuaçu Provides Superior Moisturization

That base of cupuaçu butter is then softened with three different liquid emollients. Passionfruit oil is definitely the star liquid oil in this whipped body butter; it’s lightweight, smooth, and an all-around gorgeous emollient. I could’ve used just passionfruit oil for the liquids in this formulation, but I wanted to keep the cost down as it’s definitely a luxury oil. If you’re feeling quite indulgent you could do that, though! The antioxidant benefits of cupuacu butter protect the skin from environmental and external pressures that can lead to irritation or damage to the skin.By reducing the extent of oxidativestress, cupuacu butter can helpto reduce thesigns of aging, especially wrinkles and dark patches. After looking into the Original Moxie Emollience Pre-treatment it was clear why this ingredient would be used in this fashion. The pre-treatment is a formula that is applied to the hair while dry and prior to cleansing. Cosmetic chemists have warned us for years about the damage that can occur from frequent styling and manipulating the hair, which even includes shampooing and conditioning. Fine hair or damaged hair could use some extra strength and protection, even before operating their common cleansing ritual. But this product is for every hair type. Original Moxie goes the distance to communicate that the cupuacu advantage can be obtained by any curl pattern and hair density. Listen as Owner Blistein, explains her reason for creating the Emollience Pre-Treatment: High in lauric and myristic acid, the butter creates a nice foam in soap. Furthermore, due to its high concentration of lauric acid, tucuma butter is an excellent ingredient for hair care – particularly for damaged and split-end, as well as curly hair. However, shea butter also contains a high amount of non-soluble matter that makes it feel slightly heavier than cupuaçu butter, which is completely water soluble.

Cupuacu butter is a soft solid with a low melting point (38.1) and a scent not dissimilar to that of cocoa butter. Use in Cosmetics

Cupuacu butter benefits are so valuable is its highconcentrationof antioxidant compounds, that include fatty acids: oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. These fatty acids are beneficial for the body and aid in neutralizing free radicals in the skin. The raw fruit has a slightly acidic taste and chewy texture. However, it may be difficult to find outside of South America, as it’s not commonly exported — though some specialty stores may carry it.

Cupuacu butter benefitsare rich in antioxidants, which help repair damage to the skin caused by free radicals. Free radicals can induce skin aging, dark patches, and dull skin. Protecting your skin from damage is a must if you want to keep your skin looking healthyand young. 3.
