About this deal

To test it, I set up a pair in my bedroom along with a DJM-250MK2 mixer – the compact size makes it ideal for cramped bedroom desks, and also perfect for areas for entertaining guests when space is at a premium. The XDJ-700 looks impressive without being obtrusive or intimidating, and can easily blend into any contemporary living room set-up. Using thumb drives with Rekordbox-prepared music is the way to go if you’re using an XDJ-700 set-up: the higher cost of an XDJ-700, compared to a DJ controller, comes from the fact that it works standalone without a computer. Again, if you really want to use a laptop running Rekordbox DJ when you gig out, go get a DJ controller that you can use at home like the DDJ-RX or DDJ-RB. You can then just plug in your laptop to the club’s CDJ/DJM kit when you’re at the gig, or you can take along your controller too if the venue doesn’t have a set-up. Pioneer DJ’s slimmest player yet, the XDJ-700 has been designed with the small booth or home set-up in mind. The unit measures just 238 x 308 x 106 mm (W x D x H). Plus the stand can easily be removed, reducing the height to 79 mm – helping it to fit into even smaller spaces.

As such, the XDJ-700 is a niche product. However, there is a small audience of controller DJs there who would like to try spinning without a laptop present. They are looking for hardware that would let them cut their teeth on and, at the same time, retain essential functionality, library management, and controls found in DJ booths the world over without spending the equivalent price of a used car (or dipping into their kid’s college fund). For these folk, the XDJ-700 should be on their shortlist, along with the XDJ-1000MK2. Use the full color LCD touch screen, and the color On Jog Display in the center of each jog wheel, to keep an eye on waveforms, Hot Cues, BPM, and more. With so much visual information available, you can focus on your performance and keep your eyes off your laptop when you’re performing with rekordbox or Serato DJ Pro. Compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro

The XDJ-XZ-W is sure to catch the eye of your audience and bring a pristine look to any event, venue, or studio – whether that’s in a lounge, bar, private party, or even an outdoor setting – thanks to the brand-new white color and aluminum jog wheels which feature a high-quality hairline finish. Advanced features and user experience from professional setups for pro performances The XDJ-700 boasts all the same features of the XDJ-1000, many of which are inherited from the flagship CDJ-2000NXS. Professional layout for familiarity at home and in the booth The XDJ-1000 mirrors the layout of the club standard CDJs, so DJs can perfect their sets at home and move effortlessly to the booth to perform. The 206 mm jog wheels are the same size as those on the CDJ-2000NXS, for instant familiarity wherever a DJ plays. AlphaTheta Corporation announces the release of the new XDJ-XZ-Wfrom its Pioneer DJ brand. This new version of the popular all-in-one professional DJ system for rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro comes in a brilliant-white finish, bringing an eye-catching, pristine look to any event, venue, or studio. If you’re searching for a professional setup with a robust build, high-quality sound, and a unique look, the new white model is perfect for gigs and installations where you want to strike an impression with the audience – whether that’s in a lounge, bar, private party, or even an outdoor setting. You can play rekordbox-analyzed music from USB storage devices on the XDJ-XZ-W via Export mode, or you can connect your laptop to use Link Export or Performance mode via USB-HID control. With rekordbox, you can also enjoy all the features in the Core plan. Free plug-and-play compatibility for Serato DJ Pro is included too. Other features

Multicoloured USB port: Colour-code your USB devices in rekordbox, e.g. red for techno or blue for drum & bass, and the light around the USB port will reflect that setting for ease of identification in the booth. That said, there is a very real opportunity here for the controller DJ who wants to jump to using CDJs at clubs and bars as opposed to taking along a controller and laptop wherever. I’m more of a mobile DJ than a club DJ, so I tend to take my controller along with me because the venue I play at doesn’t have CDJs. As such, I’m perfectly happy with my DDJ-RZ controller. There are extensive effects integrated directly into the unit which do not require a laptop to work and allow you to screw and add spatial effects to your mixes. A sound colour FX section provides you with four effects including dub echo, filter, noise, and pitch with a dedicated rotary control on each channel to adjust the sound colour FX, while a beat FX provides you with three time-based effects: echo, reverb, and flanger. Using the channel selector, you can make the beat FX individually affect channel 1, channel 2, or the master channel while a level/depth control lets you smoothly dial in the effects into your mix. 7-inch full-colour screen The jogwheels may be smaller, but at least I’m re-familiarising myself with the workflow, controls, navigation, and music library needed when spinning on a pair of CDJs, which are going to be very similar. Despite its smaller size, it still looks quite impressive.

First Impressions / Setting up The XDJ-700 is the “little brother” to Pioneer DJ’s XDJ-1000 multi player. Pro DJ Link means that DJs can connect up to four players or laptops via a LAN cable and share one source between them. rekordbox information can be shared across all four pieces of hardware, including the Beat Count, Phase Meter, Beat Sync and Key Analysis. The XDJ-1000MK2 inherits a high-quality audio design from the CDJ-2000NXS2. As well as analogue output terminals, a digital output sends audio without degradation, and the power supply circuit for analogue audio is completely separate from the digital circuit, reducing unwanted noise.

DJs can use Rekordbox or the Rekordbox app to plan their sets and the pleasingly large touch screen will display all the essential information including Beat Countdown, Active Loop, Wave Display with Wave Zoom, Key Analysis Indicator and Phase Meter. The XDJ-XZ-W will be available in selected regions (only available at specific retail stores in Asia Pacific, the Americas and Latin Americas – not available in EMEA regions).

Lightweight and portable: Take the XDJ-RR wherever you want to practise or perform thanks to its portable design. It’s compact and weighs just 5.2 kg – almost 4 kg (43%) less than the XDJ-RX2 – making it perfect for carrying to your next house party or gig. The well thought out design of the XDJ-700 is evident through its compact design yet it has not compromised on any of the superb features. Instead, a multiplayer has been built for use in venues looking to save on space or any home set-up. The size of the unit itself is 238mm (W) x 308mm (D) x 106mm (H) or if the stand is not needed then 79mm in height. Features: I also took a pair of XDJ-700s with me to a DJ gig. It’s in this tiny dive bar that gets really rowdy on weekends. I normally take my DDJ-RZ, and that makes switchovers a hassle because the desk in the DJ box can hardly fit it without shuffling other gear around, so the XDJ-700’s smaller form factor was a huge plus. The bar has an older DJM-350 two-channel mixer, so I just hooked up the XDJ-700s to the line inputs and spun from a thumb drive for an hour and a half. Other features: All-in-one design enables simple and speedy set-up. Connect the XDJ-RR to a power source and your speakers or sound system, and you’re ready to perform. There’s no need for cables between the player and mixer sections. Playable files:MP3 (Sampling rate: 32/44.1/48 kHz, Bit depth: 16-bit), AAC (Sampling rate: 16/22.05/24/32/44.1/48 kHz, Bit depth: 16-bit) WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Apple Lossless

Features

The Pioneer XDJ-RR is a brand new 2-channel all-in-one DJ system that runs using Pioneer’s proprietary Rekordbox DJ software and has been designed to help aspiring DJs learn essential and professional techniques so they can take their knowledge to the DJ booth with confidence. The XDJ-RR inherits a wealth of professional controls and functions from the flagship NXS2 range and loads them into a highly-portable, lightweight unit that is ideal for bedrooms, parties, and gigs as you progress through the DJ ranks. Mixer Section VirtualDJ Home is the free version of the most popular DJ mixing software of the same name, used by professionals. It has a few limitations compared to the pro version, but it is capable of mixing audio and videos yielding somewhat professional result. With this program, users can start creating basic mixing compilations; and even though it’s not really a program for novices, it’s intuitive and can be learned fast. Music can be loaded onto the Multiplayer from a computer, laptop or Smartphone through a USB or Wi-Fi connection or a USB storage device as an entity. It should be noted that the XDJ-700 uses and displays data (including preference settings) from Rekordbox software, therefore the device that stores the music library has to be running the Rekordbox software or Rekordbox app. It is also worth noting that any USB device charges when connected to the USB touch screen controller. Finally, the Multiplayer is fully MIDI compatible.
