Somewhere in the first 30% of the book she thinks smth like "I'm calm. I am good at keeping myself calm, not showing emotions, nothing can surprise me, I'll keep a calm mask no matter what, like I always do" Power and corruption –The story explores the themes of power and corruption via corrupt rulers and bureaucrats who abuse their positions for personal gain. But in all seriousness, Vendan weddings are so stinking charming. STOP, I WAS LITERALLY LAUGHING SO HARD I COULD BARELY BREATHE WHEN I READ THAT MIJE AND TIGONE, THEIR LITERAL H O R S E S WERE KAZI AND JASE'S WITNESSES. AWW *melts*

A stunning new young adult adventure set in the kingdoms of the Remnant, by the author of the New York Times-bestselling Remnant Chronicles and the Jenna Fox Chronicles. Yes, I want to kiss you,Jase Ballenger. Not for show or to make the best of it. I want to kiss you because I want you, every part of you, even the parts that infuriate me beyond telling, because you’ve infected me with a poison that I don’t want to flush out, because you’re a mad viper twisting around my middle, cutting off

This is a book I will read over and over again forever bc Kazi of Brightmist is imprinted in my heart. Every once and while a character comes along that you know you will carry with you forever and Kazi is one of those characters. Her story particularly is so heartbreaking and triumphant at the same time, and I will always remember her journey. 💙💙💙💙 Even when he gets evidence after evidence that Kazi or her friends are doing something dodgy, it's all fine with him.

When outlaw leader meets reformed thief, a cat-and-mouse game of false moves ensues, bringing them intimately together in a battle that may cost them their lives—and their hearts. I have a soft spot for Mary E. Pearson's books. She's a master at worldbuilding and angst, and her other series sent me over the roof with feels. Naturally, I was eager to get my hands on this new series set in the same world! Overall, I was really surprised by how much depth these characters all had and how captivating the story was. Mary E. Pearson definitely took the world she started in The Remnant Chronicles and made it so much better, in my opinion. I can't wait to read the next one! Griz’s brooding stature cast a mountainous shadow over me. “Doesn’t my folding technique meet with your approval?” I asked.Dance of Thieves plays to its strengths by focusing overwhelmingly on the will-they/won’t-they romance between leads Jase and Kazi. He’s the powerful new leader of a renegade outlaw clan; she’s a legendary thief. They meet, they get kidnapped, sparks fly. Most of the novel centers around their — admittedly, very interesting — love story, as they attempt to sort out whether they can ever be together in spite of their differing pasts, competing interests, and constant lies. If you love the thing where two very different people initially clash but end up falling for one another regardless, you’ll be extremely into this. It’s very well done, as such things go. Just maybe not what you initially expect. The main characters are great Once again, this book was amazing. Did not dissapoint. Coming off of rereading The Remnant Chronicles, all the characters at the end meant so much more to me than they did the first read, and I just love them all so much. The scheming, deception, duplicity and double crossing in the book was also superb. I found it hard to keep up in a good way. This added so much intrigue, suspense, and drama to a story that started and ended well, and everything in between kept me absorbed. Her lips rolled tight against her teeth. “His name was Jeb. His body was burned on a funeral pyre because that’s the Dalbretch way, but I buried his few belongings here.” Unsure whether the other is alive or dead, Kazi and Jase must keep their wits among their greatest enemies and unlikeliest allies. And all the while, Death watches and waits.

p.478 • "The queen wants told me there were a hundred ways to fall in love. Maybe they were a hundred ways to find a gift forgiveness too. I think I had already found a few of them." Fine,” Wren agreed, impatiently blowing a dark curl from her forehead. She wanted to be on her way. The anticipation was wearing on all of us. Pearson offers readers a wonderfully full-bodied story: harrowing, romantic, and full of myth and memory, fate and hope." — Booklist, starred review besides going through an unnecessary and lame slump because of my brain, I couldn’t put this book down. the whole universe this series takes place in is so interesting and just enjoyable, you really feel like you’re there. this was a great end to the duology, I’ll admit after the first book I had no idea what the second book would hold, and let me tell you, there are plot twists and surprises that had my heart racing and just so many twists and turns, I loved it!Molti di voi probabilmente non conosceranno i libri di Mary E. Pearson. Questo perché non sono mai stati pubblicati in Italia, e trovo anche che lei sia tra le più sottovalutate scrittrici di young adults. Lo scorso anno ho divorato l'intera trilogia delle "Remnant Chronicles", di cui "The Kiss of Deception" è il primo romanzo.
