About this deal

Like all safe and good biologically-active products, this effect does not last forever, because it is a normal plant nutrient and therefore naturally dissipates within the plant. Congratulations on your gold medal, which was well deserved. I watched your presentation on the BBC and absolutely loved your gorgeous lilies. Unfortunately my beautiful lilies have been decimated by the wretched lily bettle. I was even thinking about getting rid of all my bulbs after experiencing this problem for the last 3 years. Spray directly on to the foliage every 7-10 days upon first sighting (from March onwards depending on region and climate). Plants will continue to thrive while eggs are less likely to be laid, therefore larvae aren’t a problem either.

Easy to use, spray on formula • Safe to use on edible and ornamental plants • Harmless to people, pets and the planet • Strengthens and stimulates growth • Absorbed into the foliage for longer lasting control • Easy ready to use spray, no dilution necessary A customer once mentioned to me that they planted their lilies alongside a garlic bulb and that seemed to help deter the lily beetle for them. Perhaps that may be worth a try also. The lily beetle (Lilioceris Lilii) is the number one pest of lilies. It can reduce a lily plant to nothing in just a few days. Both the adult lily beetles and the horrible grubs devour lilies - leaves, flowers, and flower buds. Earlier this week I noticed 3/4 lines of plants which had been badly eaten as they started to sprout. (No or very little leaves left) I used the last of my spray to cover them.Or you can use the "eco friendly" foliar spray Grazers G4, which reduces the feeding damage of lily beetle infestations. It also strengthens and stimulates plant growth. I've never used it, so I'd love to hear from anyone that has on how effective it is. Adult beetles and grubs can be controlled, and plants protected, by spraying with Provanto Ultimate Bug Killer, Resolva Bug Killer or BugClear Ultra; the larvae are more susceptible than the adults. Where you cannot tolerate lily beetles, manage them using the information above as your first course of action.

J. Coulson These bulbs where amazing such a delight, I planted all 10 bulbs in one large container. Should I leave them in or take them out and let them dry out, protect from frost and replant next year. Pesticides The RHS recommends that you don't use pesticides. Most pesticides (including organic types) reduce biodiversity, including natural enemies, impact soil health and have wider adverse environmental effects. You can feed your lilies with a Tomato Feed to stimulate and strengthen your lilies when you start to see signs of growth. Make up your tomato feed with half the recommended dilution (written on the instructions on the bottle) and feed once every 3 weeks. Ready to use spray. No dilution necessary. Treats approx. 30sq m. Grazers is NOT a pesticide and is therefore safe to pets, wildlife, and the environment. After a few years of flowering, you may find the Oriental Trumpets Lily produces less blooms, it may be time to lift your bulbs and divide them by breaking off the bulblets. All the bulbs will then need replanting.Be aware that products such as Neem oil are not registered for use in the UK and we cannot advise on their use.
