Max leads other mutants in taking down Itex and stopping the Director from executing half of all life on Earth. She repairs her relationship with her half-brother Ari, but he dies soon afterwards. Her hair has varied over the books. The color is not mentioned in The Angel Experiment, but in School's Out - Forever and Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, it is repeatedly called blonde and even sun-streaked. However, starting in The Final Warning, her hair color is brown, but is still occasionally mentioned as containing sun streaks. Around the time that Max turned ten years old, Jeb rescued her along with Iggy, Fang, Nudge, the Gasman, and Angel. He took them to an isolated house in the mountains where they could be free to fly, learn, and interact with new parts of the world. On her eleventh birthday (an arbitrary date of her own choosing), she selected the full name Maximum Ride.The doctor of Devil's Hill is tending to her wound when she wakes up and find out he had given her a special blood transfusion of modified plasma and blood because of her avian DNA, and somehow he knows about the 2% avian DNA. She leaves the infirmary into the outdoor exercise space to get some exercise where she discovers Kenton's death. Angel said that Fang will be the first to die. In FANG, he almost dies and Max revives him with an adrenaline shot to the heart; in Maximum Ride Forever, he dies, but Dylan places him in suspended animation and revives him. In School's Out - Forever, Max goes on one date with a boy named Sam while temporarily attending a school in Virginia. This may have been to make Fang jealous. However, Max's paranoia made her suspicious of Sam. Max wakes up on an operating table to hear McCallum and the doctor discussing how to remove her wings. She begins devising a plan but is interrupted when she passes out again.
Not long after, Fang calls Max and asks her to meet him in San Diego. The groups meet at a hotel restaurant, where the members vie for dominance and brag about their powers. Fang and Max begin to argue, revealing that Fang is jealous of Dylan, while Max is jealous of Maya. The groups get into a food fight and are nearly arrested, Dylan defuses the situation by singing. Later, when both groups are on a plane, Gazzy mentions that Dylan was made to be Max's mate, which infuriates Fang. He and Max argue again, only for Angel to calm them down. Fang and Max awkwardly agree to work together to search for the Doomsday Group. Fang claims to have a soft spot for Angel and treats her like his little sister. Volume 6 was released in December 2012 and features Angel on the cover. It almost finished Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports but cuts off around the time Fang's blog readers are destroying Itex. The Renegades bringing a battery, that raises the temperature for the plague to take hold. The plague makes people turn against one another. Moke is chained to it and powering it with his ability. Hawk gets Pietro and the hybrids to fight the threats eventually beating them. Later, Hawk decides to test the prisoner (Fang). She asks him to describe her appearance, and Fang perfectly describes her wings and shows his own, surprising Hawk.
Volume 4 was released in April 2011 and features Nudge on the cover. It almost finishes the second book but cuts off right before the real Max battles with Max II. It is the first—and so far the only—volume to have a brief character profile at the beginning. The art style also changes slightly. At the end is a preview of the Witch & Wizard manga as well as an advertisement for other James Patterson books/manga adaptations and Yen Press. The car they get from the junkyard was in okay condition; in the book, they salvage parts from different cars and put them together to form a ride. Fang goes with Max to visit Dr. Martinez, and stays with her while she has surgery. On pain medication, she confesses that she loves him, which he later teasingly tells her about. However, he finds a picture of the Gasman in Dr. Martinez's office, making him wary of the seemingly kind woman. Despite this, Fang kisses Max later in the book. Good characters are interesting and little children like to dress up like them. There are Superman costumes everywhere. All the children want to be like their hero, courageous and always fighting for justice. Here we see that Max is out to find a way to escape from Erasers and rescue Angel at the same time. Ever since the children escaped from the school, the Erasers have been figuring out some way to keep the children in their place. Fang's "self-mutation" is the ability to become near-invisible when holding still, discovered in The Final Warning. This skill only plays a significant part in that book.In Maximum Ride Forever, Max finally understands why Angel was so demanding and the two work together to win the war. Max and Angel are similar, and when the battle is about to begin, Angel states how Max taught her to be strong and never give up. The book is one of the series of books written by James Patterson. The other books are Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, Maximum Ride: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports and Maximum Ride: School’s Out Forever. The author is expected to bring out more books having the same characters but we will have to wait and see.
