About this deal

Now onto the negatives. The story is predictable and has nothing to set it apart, just being your standard Hallmark Christmas film. Some of it felt choppy, some dramatic transitions being abrupt. Too many of the character relationships are rushed and underdeveloped, making changes of heart too out of left field. Not just the central romance, which is particularly standard and could have done with more consistent chemistry too. Charles N. Barnard: “The perfect Christmas tree? All Christmas trees are perfect!”– From *The Christmas Tree*. Washington Irving: “Christmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.”– Washington Irving wrote extensively about the warmth and joy of Christmas, often symbolized by the gathering around the Christmas tree. Soon Sarah encounters a nemesis -an elderly and unlikeable CEO of the nearby store who sees the sale of Christmas trees as a nuisance and wants to shut Sarah's business down. Also circling the tree lot is Darrin (Eric Johnson), a handsome young man who is apparently attracted to Sarah. Add a few colorful supporting characters and you have the basics for a Hallmark Christmas movie - romantic love and people being transformed by the spirit of Christmas!

While looking for another vacancy, she helps out her father who has injured his foot to sell Christmas trees in Manhattan with her cousin. It is a family business but Elise has never been keen in selling Christmas trees from childhood. Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see – The Polar Express Rev. C. V. Waugh". Alachua County Library District Heritage Collection. Archived from the original on 19 July 2011 . Retrieved 12 February 2008. Burton Hillis (William E. Vaughan): “The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.”– This quote, often attributed to Burton Hillis, captures the essence of family gatherings around the Christmas tree. When traveling by bus, schoolchildren in Sweden sing "En busschaufför" (Swedish for "a bus driver") or "Vår busschaufför" ("Our bus driver") to the melody. [10]You start the film thinking that she is way too nice to be with that guy and then when she meets a new one, you start to think that he's way too good for her. She's a bit wrapped up in herself, but throughout the film she grows and maybe in the end you can see that they are a good match. I personally still think he could do better. The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.”– Burton Hills

Meanwhile, it really didn't seem like Elise and Darren spent much time together, and certainly not much alone time. Even then I would say the chemistry was just average. A lot of the screen time was either the unhappy corporate world, or grumpy Gary, or the tree lot. The story is the standard narrative for most of the made for TV movies that I've seen. Girl meets boy, they date, there's some confusion as to whether they should be together and then it ultimately ends up that they do get together as you would expect from any romance, but this is set at Christmas. These quotes capture the essence of the Christmas tree as a symbol of joy, family, tradition, and the festive spirit of the holiday season. Funny Christmas Tree Quotes

I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It’s not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needs a little love – A Charlie Brown Christmas Elise comes across as someone out of her depth as both as a marketing executive and selling trees. It is all a little bit unbelievable. Sarah Lancaster has a nice smile that she showed off plenty, but beyond that, she wasn't charismatic or energetic. Eric Johnson did the best he could with the screen time he had. A Christmas tree, the perfect symbol of a holiday that blends the glitter of gold with the warmth of a cozy hearth.”– Unknown

Here are some of our long time favourite Christmas tree sayings, which perfectly encapsulate the idea of Christmas. They reflect the deep emotional and symbolic connections many people have with Christmas trees, emphasizing themes of love, family, generosity, and the enchanting atmosphere of the holiday season. Martin Luther: “The Christmas tree is a symbol of love, not money. There’s a kind of glory to them when they’re all lit up that exceeds anything all the money in the world could buy.”– Often attributed to Martin Luther in reference to his admiration for the beauty of a Christmas tree. Wook Kim (December 17, 2012). "Yule Laugh, Yule Cry: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Beloved Holiday Songs (With holiday cheer in the air, TIME takes a closer look at some of the weird stories behind our favorite seasonal tunes)". TIME. – "O Tannenbaum" (p. 5)The Christmas tree stands tall and proud, a symbol of hope, peace, and the enduring spirit of the season.”– Unknown The one thing Elise MacReynolds ( Sarah Lancaster - Christmas in the Smokies) remembers about Christmas as a child was working on the family fir tree farm and driving down to the city at Christmas to sell them on the lot. It is why she doesn't do Christmas and why she doesn't return home to the farm to see her parents as often as she should. But when at Thanksgiving she gets laid off from her marketing job she finds that the only job open to her is to return home to help sell the Christmas trees during the busiest time of the year. She reluctantly agrees and thanks to the return visit to the lot from the handsome Darren ( Eric Johnson - Call Me Mrs. Miracle) Elise even starts to get in to the Christmas spirit. But her troubles are not over as a the new owner of the neighbouring department store is a money grabbing grouch and wants to get rid of the tree lot and so Elise must find a way of stopping the city from shutting the business down. It’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that matters, it’s who’s around it – A Charlie Brown Christmas Image (5 Paws) – The cover is really precious depicting the main characters meeting and growing closer. I thought the cover image was a perfect fit and really cute.

This is a wonderful, fast paced holiday film. The story of Elise is cute, charming, and sprinkled with holiday cheer. As Elise finds her way into the Christmas Spirit, the joy she shares with others has an infectious ripple effect that becomes her saving grace. I enjoyed "Fir Crazy" because it was more than just another sappy and cheesy romantic Christmas movie. So if you enjoy Christmas movies that offers more than just your average girl dislikes boy, but has to work together for a mutual Christmas goal and ends up in love type of movie, then give "Fir Crazy" a chance. My point is this. It's clearly a Christmas movie and a romance one also. So it would be nice if the bulk of the movie was one or both, with a heavy dose leaning toward the romance side. That was not even close to how it worked out. You were right, Linus. I won’t let all this commercialism ruin my Christmas – A Charlie Brown Christmas Well, as it happens then "Fir Crazy" was actually a surprisingly good Christmas movie. Sure, this is not going to become a Christmas classic in my household, but still it was an enjoyable and watchable movie. So director Craig Pryce definitely did something right with the script and bringing the story to life on the screen. The new boss of the store whose lot Elise sells the trees from is a grinch and wants Elise and her trees out of there. Every time Elise approaches him, a calamity takes place making the boss even more irate.
