Dem soll nun dieses Sachbuch über die "Evilution" (dabei sind sie doch gar nicht evil!) Abhilfe schaffen, das mir Adam passenderweise zum All Hallows Read geschenkt hat.

Knihu hodnotím 3*/5*, ale jsem rozhodně ráda, že tento kousek budu mít v knihovničce.🖤 Zhltla jsem knížku za jeden večer a budu se k ní ráda vracet díky skvělým ilustracím i těm pár úryvkům a komentářům, které mě pobavily či zaujaly. Over 200 illustrations from 1940's through some collections published in 2005, nearly a quarter are unpublished. Most are rough sketches but the reader certainly understands the sentiment. Author Miserocchi performed extensive research into the history of the main characters (including the house), when they first started appearing (likely unnamed), the possible origins of the names and the appearance of the characters as they eventually stabilized.

Hundreds of years ago, the Addams family ancestors came from the old country and settled on a plot of land in what is now New York’s Central Park. This was, of course, long before it was a park, when it was still wilderness. The family flourished for many generations, and eventually, a huge house was built where a great Spanish oak, the Addams Family Tree, had been planted to protect the ancestral graves from such annoyances as sunlight and tourists. This is not the book to read if you are looking for everything Addams though. The TV series and movies are barely touched upon. It’s mostly about Chas’ art and the Addams Family original look.

Začlenit se do společnosti bývá někdy velice obtížné, ale vždy to závisí od všech. Jen protože se někdo něčím odlišuje (jak vzhledem nebo chováním a dalším) neznamená, že jsou horší než ti rádoby „dokonalí“ lidé. Traditionen sind für Familien wichtig, doch auf Pugsleys Marzurka geht einiges schief. Dabei wird deutlich den Traditionen bestehen müssen, aber auch Änderungen oder Anpassungen etwas wichtiges ist. Dies schweißt die Familie dann nur noch mehr zusammen. These stories were anthologized in From the Dust Returned (2001), with a connecting narrative, an explanation of his work with Addams, and a 1946 illustration Addams drew for Bradbury's short story "Homecoming" in Mademoiselle magazine, the first in the Elliot family series. Tato kniha mě nadchla, jelikož tuto rodinku znám už z dětství, tak jsem na ni byla moc zvědavá. Tento příběh mě donutil dost přemýšlet. A rozhodně je i poučný - jak pro děti, tak i pro dospělé.
