About this deal

If you are new to making your own chalk paint, you will find all the recipes I have used here: How to Make DIY Chalk Paint Brush on base color. 2. Applied top color with a rag. 3. Wiped excess top color off with another rag to expose some of the base color. Very Easy! If you don’t need to prime your cushions, you can do the same steps as above but with your chalk paint instead of your primer. Douse Chalk Paint®outdoors. It’s one of the things I’m most frequently asked, and the answer is yes! You can use Chalk Paint® outdoors.

Let the first coat to dry as instructed and apply a second coat using the same procedure. Remove the painter’s tape and let the product dry and cure as instructed. DoLacquer: Garden furniture – anything which will be touched a lot, sat on, or has a horizontal surface which will collect water or fade in bright sunlight needs to be protected with Chalk Paint® Lacquerto ensure paint won’t transfer, peel or fade. We’ve also done our best to ensure the water based paint offers enough coverage for a fantastic colour payoff. A couple of coats may be required and we recommend application with a short hair roller or brush. Achieving the perfect paint finish

To use the chalk paint on upholstery, evenly spray the fabric with water, and brush on the chalk paint (you may want to dilute it slightly). If necessary, apply a second or third coat of paint to get the desired effect. You can successfully transform a side chair or even an entire sofa with this chalk paint in minutes. Dust can prevent paint from adhering to upholstery, so be sure to clean and vacuum the surface before beginning. The paint is free of chemicals like phthalates, formaldehyde, or heavy metals and comes in 4-, 16-, and 32-ounce containers, so you can choose the right size for your needs. Ronseal Chalky Furniture Paint is another product that impressed us. Available in 8 shabby chic colours, the product is ideal for use on wooden furniture but also on doors, cupboards or kitchen cabinets. Yellow, orange, green, blue, purple and fuchsia are easy to mix and match to create a pop style interior – but also to soften down the greys and beiges in a Nordic style home. Most chalk paints won’t require sealing before outdoor use, however for peace of mind, you could apply a multi-purpose sealant that will protect your painted item from the rain as well as the sun and UV rays. It works by expanding and contracting with the surface, particularly during hot and cold spells. Alternatively, if you are painting over a varnished or previously painted surface, we would recommend giving it a light sand all the way around as this will help the paint to adhere.

Do use Chalk Paint® outdoors. It’s one of the things I’m most frequently asked, and the answer is yes! You can use Chalk Paint® outdoors. Making outdoor chalk paint is no different than making chalk paint you use indoors. It is the same, except you use “exterior” paint. When the paint is used outside though, it gradually fades and will take on a softened weathered patina. Give a new lease of life to worn-out interior furniture with Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish. This water-based product is suitable for interior use only and can be used in poorly ventilated environments thanks to the non-toxic formulation and low odour. No need to prepare with a primer - simply apply and allow an hour to dry, adding a second coat for a more opaque effect. Within four hours, you will be able to use our vibrant liquid chalk markers on the surface! What can you do with our chalkboard paint? Resisting scuffs and scratches, this Ronseal paint protects the furniture from wear and tear and revives all aspects of worn-out objects. A fantastic product adherence makes it impossible to rub the product off on touch and there is no need to apply an overcoat to protect the surface.

The home of Chalk Paint

I used the Calcium Carbonate with Plaster of Paris recipe and inexpensive Walmart paint to make the outdoor chalk paint. This paint dries to the touch in 30 minutes. However, if you’re looking for a more opaque finish, you’ll have to wait at least two hours between coats. While primer isn't necessary with this chalk paint, it is highly suggested for unfinished wood. You also don't need to sand your surface for the paint to adhere. If paint gets on the floor by accident, the latex formula makes it easy to clean up with just soap and water.
