About this deal

I will Always be a hard core Lucius fan and I couldn’t wait for him to get his own saga as Stephanie had promised. When I found out that Amelia was his chosen one I didn’t know how to feel but damn it, if I wasn’t intrigued. And again our author goddess did not disappoint. I absolutely love the transfusion series. Dealing with dyslexia, she was always determined to overcome any obstacles placed in her path, with her gift for storytelling shining through. Writing poetry as well as horror and romance, she would always be looking for new and exciting ideas to help inspire her. Still writing to this very day, she lives with her family, as she continues to put out stories and work at an ever consistent pace. Now as far as the Kingdoms of Hell is concerned I certainly did not expect it this way. Yes, I knew Amelia was due for her own little adventure. However, I waited the whole book for my vampire king. I’m surprised with the fact that I enjoyed this book so much even tho my king wasn’t in it! These books have the possibility of being deemed in the top one hundred but the number of problems with the writing makes the books almost unreadable and that's a shame. As usual Stephanie paints an excellent picture with her storytelling, the battles were explosive and the characters shine just as always. Though to be honest I found the warriors three to be slightly annoying with their accents. That was the point though, for them to sound authentic, I get that. They did grow on me more, towards the end. Also it was never explained how Trice knew Amelia...I am really hoping that's touched upon in the next one because I'm highly curious.

I do believe the series itself dragged on and some of the things that happened were monotonous. I actually quit reading the series for a couple of months because I was truly annoyed. I finally completed it and I am quite happy with the way Stephanie has ended it.This book (No 13) continues straight from where we left off, so we get to see our sexy vamp King go and lay his daughter to rest finally ( I cried soooo much) because it was such a lovely heart warming and sad part of his journey. Our girl is a bass ass which we all knew she was but she saved everybody infront of her Daddy which yet again I thought was a lovely touch because he would not believe how resourceful she was before this time. Vincent and Ari's story was to be continued, Jared, Sigurd, Seth and Lucifer's stories were never even started, and then the Transfusion series was written, which was YEARS after in the timeline (which often mentioned or hinted about previous characters and storylines...like the Blood Wars, urm... wtf happened? Inquiring minds want to know! She’s actually a strong character but put the Hero in front of her and all of sudden she is a mumbling stutering mess—I almost felt sorry for her. At first at least. Seeing him again after so many years surely gave her a whiplash but then slowly she started to give the Hero the time of day then I just got annoyed. Honey, he humiliated you!! I don’t care if he had a good reason for it. And then you found out that he has feelings for your own mother! And you’re giving him the time of day as if it was nothing? THE HEROINE SEEMS TO FEEL EVERY THOUGHT SHE THINKS MAKES HER AN ESPECIALLY SPECIAL LITTLE SNOWFLAKE.

Giving the returning fans everything that they could hope for here, this book works well on so many different levels. Hudson also makes her own voice heard, providing plenty of exciting twists and turns along the way, keeping it engaging and unpredictable. It’s a real testament to her skills as a writer that this works so well, from it’s well crafted characters to its ever engaging storyline. The wrong use of the word ' as' is so numerous it would take a chapter on its own to describe. Let's just say it is far too many mistakes for a writer of this many books not to have learned proper writing skills at some point.

I really really really tried to like this book. The plot is 1000% what I was looking for and love... BUT THE DISASTROUS WRITING Whiny, immature 27 year old professional archeologist virgin is pursued by 1000 year old vampire king who broke her heart 7 years earlier. To be fair, he was a LOT older than her, she is the daughter of his boss, and they didn't actually have a relationship except for her little girl-esque crush, so I kind of side with the vampire on this one. He didn't so much break her heart as tell a spoiled brat princess "no." But I digress... You have given us a true masterpiece with Afterlife and Transfusion so I just want to say a big thank you.xx The use of conjunctions at the start of sentences is so annoying! The odd one is fine, but when it’s 5 or 6 sentences in a row it reads like one long continuous thought. I’ve said this about the last 2 books but it was just as bad if not worse in this one. As well as the conjunctions she used the phrase ‘as for’ so many times e.g as for me, as for you, as for her, as for *insert character name here*, this also became extremely annoying.

This book had me loving to hate the handsome Vampire King Luc! Some of the ways he let his demon behave was walking the fine line for me. I know he has a temper and he sure shows it here a long with letting us see his vulnerable side. While the fearsome sex scenes are extremely intense and erotic between these two, and who doesn't love growly Lucius, I sometimes felt lost in the story because it seemed they just kept being thrown in every other scene. I would have preferred more on the communication side. For instance, when Lucius finally got around to discussing his daughter, it was a glossed over paragraph in which the reader never was able to experience his emotions in the telling to his Chosen. There were some heartfelt moments, and it was nice seeing some normalcy. Christmas at home with the gang was fun - great to reconnect with the Afterlife side. I just which there was a bit more balance.

Publication Order of Transfusion Saga Books

She’s a talented novelist when it comes to her extensive world-building too, creating vast and expansive universes. This sense of scope and scale is massively entertaining, allowing the reader to really explore the stories and series that she’s created over the years. A unique and individual voice within her particular field, Stephanie Hudson is unparalleled, becoming a household name for many. With her characters standing the test of time too, she continues to draw in readers from all around the world, as her audience grows day-by-day. The Forbidden Chapters.. part 1 covers Afterlife saga books 1-3. Can be read straight after them or maybe best after the saga. No right or wrong time to read it. Steph has also said she may look at releasing part 2!! Stephanie Hudson had dreamed of being a writer ever since her obsession with reading books at an early age. What first became a quest to overcome the boundaries set against her in the form of dyslexia, has turned into a life's dream. I first started writing in the form of poetry and soon found a taste for horror and romance. Afterlife is the first book in the series of 12 books, with the story of Keira and Draven becoming ever more complicated in a world that sets them miles apart.

Another small issue is wanting to know why it takes twelve books to tell a story. Surely the author could have spent more time on each book concentrating on proper sentence structure and removing the amount of unneeded fluff. Growing up with a strong fascination in the written word, Stephanie Hudson would start writing from an early age. This would continually develop throughout the years, allowing her to become an influential writer in her own right in time. Reading numerous fantasy novels, this would be something that she’d come to make her own unique name in. EXAMPLE: she is not a morning person. Well, join the 3/4 other billion people, yet feels the need to dramatize: I have also written The Devil in Me along with my husband Blake. A dark erotic standalone story that we are both really proud of.

Just hope the author doesn't drag this out to much and ruin it... Afterlife was going to be one of my all time favorites... but the kidnapping and Drama got a bit too YA for me ruining its initial premise and afer book 7 i really gave up caring what happened to the characters.... I was happy to get this book see they have all managed to survive happily up until now, without having to read all 12 books so silver lining. Stephanie Hudson thank you. Thank you for making me understand the meaning of a book slump cause after this book there is NOTHING that compares.. The Afterlife Academy starts approx 15/16 years after the end of Happy Ever Afterlife!! (aimed at a younger audience but definitely worth a read for everyone, especially if you want to know what happens to the the 2 baby souls!!!). Some of the new characters in these books will pop up in the other Afterlife Kings books and in the Transfusion Series so you may want to meet them for the start of their journeys!!
