About this deal

Custard Creams. Crawford's are the best. They have a really creamy centre and crisp cookie. They actually taste like custard. I've tried a lot of other brands. The custard taste is not as creamy as the Crawford's. I have seen Orange creams in the past. I'm not sure if they still make them or if they were a temporary item. I'd love to see them again. In 1927 Crawfords were one of the first factories to provide employees with their own social club and sports facilities: at Sandown Hall in nearby Wavertree. [11]

McVities have struggled to maintain the Scottish factories for their iconic Scottish brands. [18] Products [ edit ] Crawford's Biscuits - Press for Ice Cream Wafers A Crawford's custard cream biscuit It started as a Scottish baker of ship's biscuits in a public house on The Shore, Leith in 1813. The bakery was acquired by Robert Mathie in 1817 and then William Crawford in 1856, when Mathie retired. William Crawford & Sons established large factories in Leith and Liverpool so that, at its peak, it was one of Britain's largest biscuit manufacturers and claimed to be its oldest. The company was acquired by United Biscuits in 1960 and is now a brand within their portfolio. The Elbe Street factory was expanded and modernised in the 1950s but demolished in the 1990s when housing in Leith's former industrial areas started to change the area. Around 200 people lost their jobs. [ citation needed] These Custard Creams are the family favourite. For myself I buy Ginger Nuts, but my daughter and my husband want the Custard creams. The thing about these (I do pinch one occasionally) is that they have produced the perfect biscuit to encase the creamy filling. Nothing like those ghastly puff pastry biscuits or that over-sweet crunchy type. These are (I imagine) one of Crawfords main products worldwide. PS. I used to have to fill my suitcase when on trips to the UK, but now it is so easy with BCS). Thanks.

There are many ‘Free From’ brands that are dairy-free and therefore vegan. However, this list looks only at accidentally vegan biscuits, so these aren’t included here. List of Vegan Biscuits When we lived in UK every house I went to had these biscuits in their tin. This is something so great as a brand.the chocolate cream in the middle is delicious and very very tasty.I higly recommend them any time of the day.Crawfords Bourbon Creams are very good. A favourite in almost every household, together with Custard Creams. Crawfords Bourbon Creams are crisp, tasty and the filling is just creamy enough. Delicious dunked, especially in cocoa or hot chocolate, excellent value for money. A biscuit barrel must. I always thought the name Bourbon came from the vanilla used to flavour them but my husband swears he can taste a slight hint of bourbon whisky in the cream filling. Who knows?

I think custard creams are one of the nicest biscuits on the market, the filling takes this treat to the next level. These day I no longer drink tea as I prefer coffee and I can say that custard creams are good coffee dunkers too. The two biscuits are simple, the creamy centre is the perfect compliment to both the taste and texture of the biscuit. There's something really childish about squeezing the bottom of the two biscuits to see if they come apart clean or if one breaks but we all do it.

My sister LOVES these little biscuits. I was expecting them to be a bit sweeter than they were, but dunked in my tea I do like them. According to my sister, they are perfect.
