About this deal

It still retains that versatility while making for an excellent choice for a maintenance topper a year down the road on a coating. It works with any coating. I didn't seem to have any problem applying it and the areas that I did do (bonnet and rear boot/bumper) looked pretty good afterwards. The car was then left in the garage overnight and not taken outside for 24 hours. EASY & EFFICIENT Q² CanCoat EVO is the easiest coating to apply you will experience. It is also the best value for money product to protect or maintain your ceramic coated car. Its 200ml allows you to coat or re-apply it over 10 to 15 times! I relation to beeding. I honestly don't think it's any better than wet coat. Maybe I need to apply cure on top........surely the rain would not have washed this off or reduced the hydrophic ability after 15-20 hrs?

CanCoat has always been one of may favorite products. I would go on a limb and often state it was the best coating in the Gyeon line even if was not a full fledged coating. It had a claim of up to 6 months but it consistently exceeded in durability and longevity for me ranging from15-18 months. It is also one of the most versatile coatings as it can be applied to any surface (glass, paint, trim, wheels) as a standalone but also as a maintenance topper after a year or so. It also has some of the best hydrophobic behavior that I have seen and it leaves that glossy appearance. We are the UK distributors for GYEON Quartz, who are a formulator and manufacturer of advanced, quartz based protection and maintenance products. I made some fundamental errors during my first attempt at using Can Coat. Since I had associated the product with other coatings, I treated it like a normal coating application. I sprayed the product onto a microfiber applicator and then spread the coating onto a section of the paint using overlapping, cross-hatch motions. I then wiped the residue away and moved on to the next section. This was easy enough, though I did notice some residual product or light streaking from time to time that required additional attention to completely remove. As I continued to work I began to understand that with this product, less is more. Over application provided no benefit. It just took more time, created more work, and made for a more stressful process. I want to start by saying Gyeon recently released its Evo line, which includes a seemingly improved formulation of CanCoat. But for the sake of this discussion I will only mention the original formula. Gyeonhave rapidly grown to be amongst the leading manufacturer of detailing products available in the UK, offering a range of premium quality products thoroughly tested to satisfy the needs of car detailing enthusiasts, as well as the exacting requirements of professionals.Gyeon offer a comprehensive series of advanced quartz-based products offering outstanding surface protection. The Gyeon Q² range includes high-tech ceramic coatings for both enthusiasts and professional detailers, making this all in,a uncompromised range of detailing and car care products.DURABLE HYDROPHOBIC PROPERTIES Q² CanCoat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off. Shake the Gyeon CanCoat well, take a good quality microfibre cloth and spray the Can Coat into the cloth. Wipe over a section (half a panel) gently ensuring you pass over all the area at least twice to provide even coverage. Take a second good-quality microfibre cloth and wipe off completely. Repeat for all other sections on your car until gleaming. Regular maintenance washes with strong but pH neutral shampoos like CarPro Reset, TAC Mystic Bubble, regular Gyeon Bathe or Bathe Essence Gyeon Q2 Can Coat EVO is an increibly easy to use spray coating, simply spray onto the attached microfibre and wipe until you achieve full gloss. Now in its EVO form to provide you with a more durable yet easy to apply SiO2 based coating. Bad news is that about 15 hrs after applying it started to rain a little and 24 hrs after the second coat the rain got heavier. I was hoping for 24 hrs without rain to allow it to fully cure.

Outdoor Friendly. Meaning it can be applied outside but not in direct sun and avoid wet wet weather for the first 24 hours as it will affect the cure time (ie dew, rain). This will be a big hit for those that don't have access to a garage as it applies to all of the Gyeon coatings. One thing mentioned in the included maintenance book, is to apply Gyeon Cure as a precaution if planning to leave it outside. I have applied it outside with some issues on top panels (roof, hood) acting a bit worn off after a short period of time. Side panels were fine. Issue is its been applied in late fall with low temps and humid enviroment. It doesnt take long to cure (about 3h) but I still advise you do 2-3 coats on these panels and wait for warmer weather to do so or keep it in a garage if you can. As a first foray into ceramic coatings, I thought I would try applying Gyeon Can Coat to my 6 year old car.

Is it a Coating or a Sealant?

Waxes, sealants, coatings… oh my! The paint protection industry is evolving every single day. New technology is pushing out new products faster and faster, and consumers now have so many options it can be a bit overwhelming. Today we are going to talk about one of those options, Gyeon CanCoat. Moments after applying CanCoat to this BMW it had begun to rain. I immediately began to see very good hydrophobic behavior (water beading). But this is the part of your articular I take issue with …”with coating qualities close to other traditional coatings” Similar yes but not entirely accurate when all things are considered. So for me the following comparison is an overarching con that casts a shadow on the pros Cancoat offers. Even on fully decontaminated cars, after a couple of uses i've found products like this to actually mask the properties of the ceramic coating. Many people take this to mean the coating has 'failed' even though it's still there, albeit buried in layers of Bathe + or WetCoat style products. I’ve discovered that Can Coat is a bit of a unique product. In my opinion, it falls somewhere between the two categories. Can coat claims to provide many of the benefits of a true coating such as strong protection against chemicals, environmental contaminants, and UV rays, however it does not offer the same durability that most coatings can provide. Can Coat is like a more potent version of a spray sealant such as Gyeon Cure, but a less potent version of a coating like Gyeon Mohs. Can Coat may be applied on top of an existing coating or as a stand alone layer of protection.
