I recently stopped dying and grew out my gray hair. I was missing the shine I used to get from hair dye. The other only ways to get shine are from oil (which I hate), or a lamellar product like this. I’ve tried several lamellar brands, and this one is the best. I use it a little differently from the directions. I put the product into a misting bottle and mist my hair after shampooing and towel drying. I comb it through and leave it in. No rinsing. I use much less product this way…which is great, because this is an expensive product. I get shine for days. I don’t need to use conditioner or any styling products…I just use shampoo and K Water…which makes the high price easier to tolerate. My only criticism would be the strong perfume smell, but I find it goes away once my hair is dry. I can’t praise this product enough. No build up. No greasy look. Just shine and silky hair. Brava! Once your hair has been cleansed, apply the lamellar water product to your lengths and ends before instantly rinsing it off. This replaces the need for conditioner or masks. Think of it as a moisturiser for your skin; moisturising once won’t keep your skin moisturised for good, you need to apply it regularly. The same goes for lamellar water, which means it’s how K Water and Wonder Water work. L’Oreal, even when I did use it was never really my favourite for haircare – however there were a few stand out products I liked from the Elvive range, however, I really did not like the Dream Lengths range that the 8 Second Wonder Water comes from, so I was intrigued as to whether this would work for me well or not. I’ll be trying out the Matrix one next as I’ve been loving their haircare recently anyway, I have hopes that that one will be as good and with the Cruelty-Free status I desire!

I decided to go full steam a second time and applied it to my full head, using around 40ml ish of product this time all over I used less proportionately than I did the first time. Again, brushing through my hair I found it really quite pain-free to do and this time I decided to dry my hair with a hairdryer and just use a paddle brush to brush it out. Holy Moses, this time I did notice the shine, my hair looked super healthy and felt really soft and had the real shininess that I was after. I couldn’t stop looking at my hair all afternoon in the mirror it looked like it had that fresh colour glossiness to it and it was given by this product alone. Whatever your hair's needs, using Kérastase shampoo and conditioner, combined with their high performance styling products, will leave you with salon-fresh, silky smooth hair every time. The interesting bit is that,K Water is actually devoid of water and is a combination of glycol and caring agents that help deliver a smoother finish. This glossy shine with nobreakage is a tempting affair because it’s a one-time benefit that lasts a day or two. One should try it if you are heading out on a big date or a wedding function or any other social occasion – the glow on your hair is real. A mixture of so-called lipid compounds and cationic derivatives “rush” to your hair’s fibres, forming neat layers that give the K Water and Wonder Water’s smooth finish. But first, what made me try this treatment? As a busy mom with homeschooling going on and a full-time job – my answer is, self-care. But not just any – the kind that requires just 10 minutes and whose effects can last a day or two long. So the bigger draw, it’s a treatment for women who have no time for elaborate ideas and those who sell want fabulous hair. Who said we can’t have it all?The only thing that has ever worked short of a very expensive salon visit. Goodbye frizz. Wonderful. Kérastase claims that K-Water suits all hair types because it mimics the natural structure found in the body rather than targeting specific areas or problems. However, if your hair is very damaged or coarse, Kérastase advises talking to one of their stylists about alternative treatments such as Fusio-Dose. Described as a “suit of armour”, the lamellar treatment protects via ingredients inside the product while also supporting the penetration and action of the active ingredients into the skin and hair so they work throughout the day. If like me you aren’t keen on L’Oreal as a whole and would prefer shopping Cruelty Free – there are other options on the market. The act of rinsing activates the molecules which bond to form ultra-fine topcoat on the surface of your hair and because it works instantly, it doesn’t add any time to your salon visit like a masque would.

Lamellar gel structures emulsify cosmetic oils to form an invisible film around the active ingredient. So if you’re wondering “what is a Lamellar Conditioner”– don’t worry I have you covered. Lamellar Conditioners are a water-like consistency which deposit shine and hydrating into the damaged parts of your hair. In the case of L’Oreal 8 Second Wonder Water one it promises to help detangle, feel 10 times smoother and is silicone-free. You apply to the hair whilst wet after shampooing and massage in for 8 seconds before rinsing off. You can apply a conditioner after if desired too, and I’ve been trialling this in multiple different ways. Expensive but worth every penny! It fully meets my expectations; it instantly rejuvenates my dry hair and transforms it into beautiful and silky hair. I don't use a lot on my chin length haircut so I am pretty sure it will last for a long time. Definitely recommend it!I was offered this product in-salon a couple of years ago and would regularly have it done at the salon every month.
