About this deal

Target User: The outdoor enthusiast who is looking for a good balance of weight, durability and space. The end poles angle outwards. The top of them is covered by a hood. This protects vents in the end walls. There is also a hood over the top of the flysheet door so this can be left open for ventilation. Overall though weather protection takes priority over ventilation, as it should in a tent designed for winter conditions. To help keep condensation at a minimum, there are also vents at both ends of the inner and flysheet The Meteor 3,000 is actually a reworking of the popular Meteor 2 which has been on sale in the States for a while. Sierra Designs recognised that hikers in northern Europe want their tents to be super sturdy, reliable and very, very waterproof, so they beefed up the design to make it fit the bill. The 3,000 is actually a reference to the hydrostatic head of the flysheet which is 3,000mm compared to the 1,800mm fly on the Meteor 2. The material the product is made from is often a sign of the quality for 2 man tents. Take a look at the product details over at Cotswold Outdoor to get a feel for this.

For anyone looking for that ‘home from home’ feel, Big Agnes has what you yearn for. The Copper Spur HV UL2 is well proportioned (a phrase I usually reserve for my belly). Not only is there plenty of room for two occupants, the vestibule provides ample space for stowing your outdoor gear. And unlike some other two-person tents, there is plenty of room for you to sit up, or even stand (albeit hunched over). If conditions are poor and you need to double-pole the tent, there are extra eyelets in the pull-out tapes for the pole feet Another factor that can be a great indication of product quality is the brand. Brands like Terra Nova are of course extremely well known, especially for 2 man tents. Target User: An outdoor athlete who is wanting the latest technology and lightest kit to achieve their best performance.Terra Nova have included a handy webbing loop at the bottom of the flysheet door to accommodate a trekking pole, enabling you to create a useful canopy. I'm feeling enthused by the idea of some more camping. Possibly a mix of short bike trips and overnight hikes, nothing really extreme. Now we're in September I suspect prices are lower than in April. The flysheet is made from a 5000mm silicone-coated ripstop nylon while inside there’s a half mesh inner with an impressive 6000mm waterproof rating on the base. It’s pitched flysheet first, or you can pitch the whole thing as one. It’s all simply done, you just slide the main hooped pole through an external sleeve and then the ends are propped up by short poles.

It’s been 15 years since the first MSR Hubba Hubba tent was launched and this ‘next generation’ (NX) version is a good progression. It’s not radically different, but they’ve switched the materials, bringing in new fabrics and pole technologies that are lighter yet still durable. In fact, this model is 270g lighter than that 2004 original.Like the Snugpak Lonospere, the Vango Helium UL1 can’t match the high-end, premium features of some of the tents in this list; nor is it as competitive as the likes of Snugpak on price. But this means it fits neatly on its own, in the middle, providing a mid-range option with an excellent balance between weight and price. In fact, it’s pretty good value considering how light this is, measuring just 1200g. It features a Protex 3000mm waterproof flysheet, 70 denier nylon fabric ground sheet and useful vents which allow air flow to combat condensation. Handily the hooped main pole has a high arch on it, meaning you can comfortably sit up inside. Terra Nova Superlight Series tents are designed to create extremely lightweight products, balanced with strength and durability. This is achieved using both 7 and 10 denier nylon 6.6 ripstop flysheet fabrics, with a maximum tear strength of 6kg. Main seams are seam plus factory silicone sealed and the fully taped groundsheet offers complete waterproof protection A simple, effective design with single entrance help keep weight down. The low profile of the tent, guy lines and low-cut fly make it an excellent tent for battling the wind and rain. We’re really pleased to have scored Terra Nova Laser Compact 2 Tent so highly, givimg it 8.8 out of 10, making it well above the average for all 2 man tents.

It is a more compact version of the Laser Competition and from the moment it was released it started to impress, winning the UK Outdoor Industry Awards 2019 for Tents and Awnings. We have put together a list of our best four-season tents, so you can explore the world in all conditions: Southern CrossTerra Nova has been on my radar for some time now. I first came across them when preparing to ski to the North Pole and was looking for a solid expedition tent. I trialled the Laser 2. Target User: Outdoor enthusiasts wanting extremely lightweight kit for short to medium-length trips, events and activities.

There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it.

That’s why we’ve pulled together this list of key factors for Terra Nova Laser Compact 2 Tent below, to help you choose if it’s the right product for you and your budget. Protection. A tent is useless if it can’t protect you from all that Mother Nature has to throw at you. The flysheet is 10D and PU and silicone coated nylon, with a large cutout at the head of the tent which keeps the overall weight down while increasing ventilation as well. The bathtub groundsheet reaches up high enough to protect the exposed section that this section creates. This is really easy to set up, with the one main pole across the width and two short poles at each end. I like the fact it offers a low profile but with plenty of headroom inside – I found I could just about sit up without my head scuffing on the top. It’s not as light as the Terra Nova Laser 2, but much lighter than the Elixir 2. Some hikers have argued that the Hubba Hubba NX is not suitable for extremes of weather. And I agree, to a point. MSR has designated this a 3-season tent, but there are reports of it performing well in pretty wild conditions.
