The key is to use only so much, depending on how soft the clay is! The denser the clay, like our clay below, the less you want to use. A softer clay will require you to use more. Feel free to experiment with the consistency you like the most. You can also try kneading more hand lotion into the slime. We’ve had success using hair conditioner to make slime soft again as well. Sometimes it’s a bit of an experiment to see what will work.
Butter slime is definitely the best the first day you make it. What can I do to make my butter slime soft again? The glue is a polymer of long, repeating, and identical strands or molecules. These molecules with flow past one another and keep the glue liquid. Until… Some butter slime recipes call for shaving cream, but this one is made with Model Magic and lotion. This will yield a super stretchy clay slime that doesn’t lose its volume after a few days like shaving cream slime inevitably does.
How long does butter slime last?

What type of slime activator do you recommend? Keep your butter slime stored in an air tight container or bag and it will last at least 1 week. We like to store in a Ziploc bag so we can press out all of the air from the bag.
