About this deal

I replaced an Alienware AW3418DW Ultra-Wide 3440X1440 that was my main gaming monitor. I needed a smaller monitor & less-wide due to my aging boomer eyes myopia causing dizziness with the ultrawide in games. 27" 1440p was still a little too big, and yes, I tested with my cheapo MSI 24" 1080p monitor which cured it. The Alienware AW2521H is a lot like the AW2521HF, but this model is clearly a cut above the latter when it comes to its specs. This model also comes in either Lunar Light or Dark Side of the Moon colorways so you can mix it in with a themed setup. The display area is bezel-free on three sides, so the view is maximized with very minimal disturbance. This sounds like my reason for still using a CRT to play old games on my i7 PC at 800x600 or 640x480, except those are running only at 60Hz or 85Hz at most. Can somebody please compare this monitor to CRTs for blurring / ghosting in full-screen scrolling? Smaller 24.5", 16:9 aspect ratio is great for my aging eyesight but still large enough to really enjoy the gaming experience. Finally, keep in mind that the ASUS PG248QP is planned for 2023 with a 1080p 540Hz TN panel, as well as the Dell Alienware AW2524H with a 1080p 500Hz IPS panel. Conclusion

With overdrive setting at extreme and 240hz there is no ghosting with Gsync enabled with the UFO test Note that the monitor can also support 10-bit color depth, in which case you’re limited to 300Hz over DisplayPort 1.4 without chroma subsampling.

IPS panel has beautiful colors and they did not sacrifice image quality with the 360hz refresh rate. That's both a plus and minus then, it's better for gaming for sure, not so much for work, but it is what it is.

IMHO, its a bit overkill for online gaming as even the best internet gaming servers has around 20ms latency. However, it still cool. What formula are you using when calculating that, sir? Both Super Fast and Extreme modes are redundant as they introduce too much inverse ghosting (pixel overshoot), whereas the Fast mode works perfectly fine across the entire refresh rate range. It prevents ghosting at no cost of overshoot. The panel type is basically what impacts your experience most. There are three main types here, IPS, VA, and TN.But the thing is, professional gamers don’t need the high resolution – they need a high refresh rate. A high refresh rate, which means less time to render an image on the display, gives you the information faster. Whether it’s movement, or something happening in-game, the higher refresh rate will show that earlier. And that’s a major advantage. However, one thing to note here is that your game will need to be on a whole other level if you are to take advantage of that high refresh rate. When you’re playing competitive titles like Overwatch, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or Valorant, a high refresh rate doesn’t make too much of a difference if you have slow reaction times. Noteworthy gaming features include Dark Stabilizer (improves visibility in darker games by altering the gamma curvature) and Game Enhance Mode (consists of an on-screen timer and a frame rate counter). When all is said and done, 360Hz monitors do have a lot to offer, especially to competitive gamers that know how to take advantage of them. And the models we chose above are all the best of the best, with great viewing angles, excellent performance, and plenty of adjustments. The AW2523HF needs very little in the way of adjustment. In fact, you can enjoy it just fine in either Standard mode (the default) or Custom Color. Both options offer a visually neutral grayscale, error-free sRGB color and near-perfect gamma.
