Did you know that beeswax can last indefinitely, as long as you store it correctly in a sealed container in a dry and cool place? I have not been disappointed. It has rejuvenated our light oak, and made it a pleasure to look at, and easier to dust.I recommend either tung oil or linseed oil. It would be best if you don’t use mineral oil since it’s not a drying oil. Also, please don’t use other oil finishes such as Danish oil since they contain varnish not ideal for this process. Even so, this step is optional as it depends on the specific beeswax mixture you need.
A wood wax finish is a great product to top off other wood finishes as you are able to achieve higher levels of shine with a wood wax finish. Beeswax can make it much easier for you because you only need a piece of cloth to apply it. Wiping your furniture with a cloth that has beeswax should suffice as a protective layer. You don’t need to have the skills to balance out the strokes for the brush that you’re using, which is a common issue that you’ll experience, especially if you’re using varnish. Provides Some Water and Scratch ResistancePlace both the beeswax and the olive oil into a double boiler such as demonstrated in the image below. You can make a double boiler by floating a saucepan inside another pan filled with hot water. You want your oils heated indirectly and evenly in this way because it’s safer for you and helps maintain the integrity of the ingredients. If stored in a cool, dry place our Beeswax Polish will last for years without drying up or going off. Upgrade to the Wood Wax Kit
