Did you know you can flag iffy content? Adjust limits for Violence & Scariness in your kid's entertainment guide. Get started Close Genre: Teen & Young Adult Pirate Action & Adventure, Teen & Young Adult Historical Romance, Teen & Young Adult Fiction What a fun conclusion to this series! I’m actually somewhat sad that it’s over; however, it all turned out well, so there’s no complaints with that. There is not a whole lot going on while on the ship so I can see why some people wouldn't like it, but I myself, thought it was great. Yeah, some stuff had me saying, "Lets get on with it." But, I digress. As for the romance... Let's just say that the funny/flirty banter and sexual tension between Alosa and Riden disappeared in this book. Instead, they just spent their time trying to figure out each other's feelings and not admitting how they were in love with each other and I am sad to say that it was annoying at times. I LOVE angst and drama, but the way it was developed in this book felt more like a teenage romantic drama than a complex angsty romantic drama.

The most boring, flat, uncharismatic cold piece of toast ever to have the goddamn wherewithal to call himself a pirate. The writing style is engrossing, it makes readers want to read their eyes out. The same kind of effect that took toll on me. I liked reading the growth that occurred in her characterisation throughout the story. The characters are not perfect, they make mistakes and foolish choices throughout the course of the story, which makes the story all the more natural and enjoyable. I value brilliant minds, honest souls, and those with long endurance. I forge relationships based on trust and mutual respect, not fear and control.”The truth in those words is clearly reflected in her relationship with the members of her crew and loyalty and respect they exhibit towards her. It also gives us an opportunity to see Alosa in her well deserved role as captain of her ship.you could do more in depth literary analysis on the gifs i chose for this pre-review than on The Daughter of the Pirate King. This may seem like an odd tactic, but Alosa knows once she is aboard the enemy ship she will have ample opportunity to search for the map.

Yes, we should all worship the stars. They are as useful as they are beautiful. Some never change position. They are constants in the sky. Without them, we would be lost.” Alosa was really the princess who didn’t need saving from a man. She always did it herself. I think Riden never had the feeling that Alosa couldn’t defend herself or couldn’t handle the situation alone. However, this being said, it took me a LONG time to get through this. It wasn't really drawing me in. I didn't find anything super compelling about it. Overall, tho, this was another great read!! 🤩🤩 would recommend this book & this series if you want:I was addicted from the start. Mostly because I loved the main character and her sassy personality. Seventeen-year-old Alosa, daughter of the feared Pirate King, is on a mission. She must retrieve an ancient hidden map, the key to a legendary treasure trove. The catch? Alosa needs to conceal her considerable combat skills and allow herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship. I may not have been born in the sea, but I was born to rule it. I am the daughter of the siren queen.” The romance was so forced, I hated it even more that I hated the characters. Alosa somehow barely knows Riden, but from the moment she met him, she was already in love *done with everything* The plot is nice and well written, even though it is standard and some parts were predictable. Still, I enjoyed the many plot twists there were in this story, and even though I knew that there would be betrayals, I couldn't figure out who would betray who. I was really engaged in this story and I just couldn't stop reading it!

In terms of romance, while there is still plenty of sexual tension and romantic moments, I do feel like we lost some of the clever banter between our dear captain and our newly captured Riden. Fortunately, the conversations and further development of our side characters filled some of this void. This time around there was no true obstacle standing in the way of our favorite ship, except for their trust issues. Alosa struggles to fully let Riden in for fear of making herself weak, vulnerable. While Riden refuses to do things in half measures and will not be with Alosa if he cannot have all of her.I'M KIND OF UPSET with how it ended because I wanted there to be a better resolution between Alosa and Riden, but it feels like now there's drama again and ughh. I just get really frustrated when characters sabotage their own relationship Daughter of the Siren Queen was probably just as good as Daughter of the Pirate King, though both wavered and weren’t perfect. With both, there would be moments where I’m extremely invested and loving everything going on, only to feel bored five minutes later. Those highs and lows were odd, I have to admit. Regardless, it was still a good story. Alosa has long, fiery red, curly hair with sun-kissed skin. Riden referred to Alosa as beautiful to Kearan and Enwen before assigning them to guard her in the brig of the Night Farer. Her eye color depends on the amount of Siren abilities she has in her possession. The more power she has the bluer her eyes, but when she has no more power her eyes are green. With this new knowledge of her father's true nature in mind, she decides to set out on her own to claim the booty for herself and her crew. She feels no more allegiance to him.
