No, actually the lens isn't especially good, particularly when compared to the direct competitor, the Ricoh GRII.One thing you’ll likely not need to worry about are lens corrections. While some of this is no doubt down to clever processing rather than the quality of the lens alone, it’s difficult to see images affected by vignetting, distortion or chromatic aberration, at least not to any objectionable degree at all. At a minimum, the Ricoh GR III will have a very good lens. And ideally it will have a lens equal to the extraordinary lens in the GR I and GR II. Good for: Street photographers using 'snap focus', landscape shooters looking for a lightweight photographic companion and generalist photographers that have enough experience to work around the camera's limitations.
