About this deal

The Endurance– A look at the spaceship in the film, its resemblance to the International Space Station and a tour of the inside (which looks conspicuously like another we’ve seen before…) It’s a stunning video presentation which, for the majority of the runtime, will make your jaw drop.

Final Thoughts– Just that. The cast and crew give us their impressions on the film as a whole and its possible repercussions on the real-world. This three disc set contains two of the discs, each containing a movie (the Ultra HD on one and the Blu-ray on the other). The special features are all found on the third disc.Shooting in Iceland: Miller's Planet/Mann's Planet—Travel with the cast and crew to Iceland and see the challenges they faced in creating two vastly different worlds in one country. Christopher Nolan films often appear crafted for demo purposes, with fantastic visuals and jaw-dropping IMAX sequences that demand to be shown off. Yet they’ve almost universally been peppered – not plagued, mind you – with minor issues that tend to leave them always running just shy of perfect. Interstellar, though not an exception, is so predominately stunning that the scattered anomalies are little more than passing space dust in the vastness of its otherwise spectacular universe. Shooting in Iceland: Miller’s Planet/Mann’s Planet– The two planets in the film share a common Earth-Bound country in Iceland. The shallow lake that was used as well as the barren glacier that was perfect for both locales.

The Science of Interstellar– This 50 minute documentary is narrated by McConaughey (much more understandable here than in a majority of the film, I might add) and takes us through a lot of the literal science that’s included in the film. Together with Physicist Kip Thorne who also served as the film’s Executive Producer, we learn some of the logistics in the film, the creative licenses (not) taken and get a crash course in Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. Blu-ray.com and Paramount Home Entertainment are offering three members the opportunity to win a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray copy of director Christopher Nolan's Interstellar (2014), starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, and John ...The Simulation of Zero-G– Gravity plays a huge role in the film and has multiple repercussions, though this is more focused on the actors’ and how they dealt with varying degrees of gravity. TARS and CASE (09:27) - A detailed look at the two intelligent mobile machines in the film, how they were designed and brought to life for the film. The conclusions that are reached can appear hokey on the surface. There's an "I've seen this somewhere else," vibe near the end. But, with Nolan's keen directorial eye, focused on the wonder of practical special effects, and a dominating performance from McConaughey, 'Interstellar' overcomes most of its faults and satisfies in the end. That's a whole lotta movie," gasped my wife after her first viewing of Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar.'
