Different optical designs. The Nikon 50/1.8G uses a more modern optical design incorporating one aspherical element, which allows for a better image, especially on open diaphragms. I doubt though if it will be as good as my 10 year or so old EF 50mm f1.4. Automatic image corrections built into present Canon cameras and some editing software corrects most errors in known Canon lenses. Youngnu wont correct in Canon cameras and not likely in editing software such as DXO. I imagine the build quality is probably inferior to Canon lenses. The diaphragm on the latches, I washed the petals with technical alcohol, completely changed the lubricant. There should be very little lubrication.

All in all, Yongnuo 50 / 1.8 II became better than its predecessor. If the previous version copied Canon 50 / 1.8 II, then Yongnuo 50 / 1.8 II is already trying to copy something more advanced in something Canon 50 / 1.8 STM. True, Yongnuo 50 / 1.8 II and Canon 50 / 1.8 STM very different from each other.Standard prime lenses aren’t exactly ten a penny but there are plenty of inexpensive options, including the Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM, Sony FE 50mm f/1.8 and the slightly shorter Nikon Z 40mm f/2.
