About this deal

The 24.2-million-pixel sensor the 750D and 760D use bring both models into line with their closest rivals in the market, namely the Nikon D5500, which also features a 24.2-million-pixel chip. The move away from an 18-million-pixel sensor to a 24-million-pixel sensor sees a jump in the output image size too – up from 5184×3456 pixels on the 700D to 6000×4000 pixels on the 750D and 760D. Unlike the Nikon D5500 and some other recent high-resolution APS-C sensors however, the 750D and 760D continue to use an anti-aliasing filter and with this in place it has its work cut out to resolve the same levels of resolution. This is a great camera that's capable of producing superb quality images which have much more detail than the 700D's. The control layout is also almost identical to the previous camera's, making the upgrade very smooth. The 760D, however, offers slightly better handling and would be our preferred choice.

Frequent users of video are catered for with a 3.5mic port at the side and full HD video (1920×1080) captured at 30,25 or 24fps. There’s the option to lower the resolution (1280×720) and shoot at 60,50 or 30fps if preferred, while another useful video feature not often found on beginner DSLRs is the option to manually control sound levels in-camera. Keller, Jeff; Britton, Barney; Bracaglia, Dan (February 2015). "Canon EOS Rebel T6s/T6i (760D/750D) First Impressions Review". DPReview.com . Retrieved February 6, 2015. The Canon EOS 750D (Rebel T6i, as it’s branded Stateside) succeeds the EOS 700D/Rebel T5i introduced in 2013. It features a new 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100-12800 (expandable to ISO 25600), as well as 5fps continuous shooting. Although the 750D’s 19-point AF array might not be as widespread as the 39-point AF system as found on the Nikon D5500, it improves on the 700D’s basic 9-point AF arrangement and is superior to the 11-point AF system as featured on another of its rivals – the Pentax K-S2. Sitting just above these two is the two-year-old EOS 700D – a DSLR that adds a few more attractive features to its specification to tempt aspiring photographers who’d like a vari-angle touchscreen and the ability to shoot a faster continuous burst. It’s still available to buy and at a very reasonable price, although its reign as the flagship beginner model in Canon’s EOS line-up has come to an end with the introduction of the EOS 750D and EOS 760D.

LCD Monitor

The 750D improves upon the 700D’s 63-zone SPC metering system with a 7560-pixel metering sensor that’s sensitive to red, green, blue and infrared light. To further improve exposure accuracy, the metering is linked to the selected AF points in evaluative mode, with partial (6% of viewfinder), spot (3.5% of viewfinder) and center-weighted modes all available. To summarize, the 750D makes a great choice for beginners making their first inroads into DSLR photography. It comes with a complimentary set of features to tempt those away from the competition and as you’d expect from a DSLR it handles particularly well during prolonged spells of shooting. Servo AF (autofocus) in live view mode, allowing for continuous autofocus during shooting bursts. (The 750D/T6i only supports Servo AF when using the optical viewfinder.) Both 750D and 760D camera uses advance Hybrid CMOS AF III sensor and a 19-point AF phase module sensor, The Hybrid Sensor AF system gets activated when a user switches to live view shooting or records a video. All of the current Canon EF Lenses are compatible with the Canon latest Hybrid AF sensor and will do AF perfectly without an issue. David Hambling (11 April 2022). "Russia's Deadly Artillery Drones Have A Strange Secret". Forbes . Retrieved 11 April 2022. Fitting in perfectly with the camera’s fairly easy style, the Canon EOS 750D screen tilts out and up/down to make seeing what you’re shooting when holding the camera above or below your head – or at any sorts of odd angles – easy. It’s a smooth, high-quality vari-angle mechanism. Customer needs to carry the product to the nearby Authorized Service Center to get the product repaired or inspected. Cameras like the Canon EOS 750D are not intended to lure you in with flashy extras or to provide the sort of speed professional action shooters are after. Instead, you get solid everyday speed that actually falls slightly below several rival CSCs at the price. Unlike the Rebel T6s / 760D, the EOS Rebel T6i / EOS 750D doesn't have a Servo autofocus option in Live View mode so there isn't an option for focus to adjust continuously while the shutter release is held down and subject distance changes. There is, however, a Continuous AF option in the Live View section of the main menu. When this is activated focus is adjusted fairly slowly when the shutter release isn't pressed. It's designed for use in video mode and to pre-focus when shooting stills.

Exposure Control

An LCD information display on top of the body, a feature never before available in the EOS xxxD/Rebel digital line. The last previous consumer-level body with an LCD display was the 35mm film-era EOS 3000N/Rebel XS N. Perhaps the best thing about the EOS Rebel T6i / EOS 750D is the fact that you can use it with 30 years' worth of lenses and a wide range of accessories. So, you can complement the standard 18-55mm kit lens with a wideangle, macro or telephoto optic, from Canon's latest-generation options to a slew of older third-party alternatives. But the most aggravating problem with the Canon EOS 750D is battery life. Its 440 shot-capacity is acceptable, being both a match for the 700D (despite the extra power requirements of a higher sensor resolution) and the Pentax K-S2, but the 820-shot lifespan of the Nikon D5500 puts it very much in the shade.

A little basic by 2018 standards, but available at a very attractive price for first-time buyers. The Rivals The Canon EOS 750D has been released at the same time as the 760D Canon EOS 750D / T6i Review – Features Canon has also implemented its DIGIC 6 image processor which supersedes the DIGIC 5 unit found in the 700D, and the new model also receives an upgraded 19-point autofocus system pulled from the EOS 70D. The 750D’s exposure metering system is new, too, as is the inclusion of Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC pairing. The Canon EOS 750D (Rebel T6i) is the successor to the EOS 700D (Rebel T5i) with the following improvements.

One of the best entry-level DSLRs around

Banding issues caused by Auto Focus pixels - DSLR, Mirrorless & General-Purpose Digital Camera DSO Imaging". Turning to the rear, the 750D’s optical viewfinder reveals 95% coverage of the frame as opposed to 100%. This is typical of a consumer-level DSLR, but it’s important to remember that when composing an image more of what you see through the viewfinder will be captured at the edges of the frame. Canon improved the AF system for the 750D when compared with its predecessor, the 700D. It has a 19-point on-sensor, with all-cross-type points, as well as the on-sensor phase detection pixels that are used when you’re in Live View mode. Even without scrutinising, images from the Canon EOS 750D are impressive. With the Picture Control colour options set to ‘Standard’, colours are vibrant without looking oversaturated or unnatural. The camera’s evaluative exposure metering is also extremely reliable, and though it shares the same 63-zone system as the 700D, there’s now a 7560-pixel RGB sensor to account for colour as well as light approaching the infra-red spectrum. All of the sample images in this review were taken using the 24 megapixel Fine JPEG setting, which gives an average image size of around 7Mb.
