About this deal

I found it took around a month for the Cystease to start to have an effect - it needs time to sooth the bladder walls so 2 weeks isn't very long.

Cystease contains ingredients to help relieve stress and support the bladder, it does not contain any urine acidifiers. A urinary diet is the mainstay of preventing repeat urinary issues to it is advised to continue this if your vet has recommended one. It was my decision to put him on Cystease, twice a day for a couple of weeks. Then I cut down to one and he continued to wee fine, nice big wees and no straining, crying or hopping in and out of the litter tray, Then I took them off him and he has been fine for a couple of years now Ingredients: contains N-acetyl D-glucosamine which helps to replace and maintain the glycosaminoglycan layer that lines and protects the bladder mucosa. i'll finally get to my question which is, does anyone have any experience of this, it's not classed as a medication but as a supplement, i asked if i could gradually wean him off of it and they didn't know, the vet said she hadn't used it herself and to ask the nurse who dispensed it, the nurse said to ask the vet...has anyone used this been able to wean their cat off, i really don't want Finn taking anything he doesn't need and he's only 2 years old, to take them for the rest of his life seems a very long time...i know i can read up online but i'd rather take advice from someone whos used it and knows exactly it works.Im hoping this is just a one off, nothing has changed here as far as i know but a few days before he got ill we came home and he was very jumpy and didn't want to come out of his hiding place so i don't know what happened, my girls were fine though, maybe they ganged up on him, god knows he chases them enough. Feliway Cystease (previously Cystease S / Cystease Advanced) is a tablet given to cats to help encourage urinary health. As stress is considered the main factor in urinary health, it is recommended to use alongside the Feliway calm-inducing diffusers which are available from VioVet here . Various factors have been recognised as being associated with the urinary problems, such as obesity, dried biscuit diets and stress due to environmental factors (often from other cats). MiPet CatEase helps to support and preserve the protective glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer of the bladder. It also contains L-tryptophan which is used in the brain to make serotonin, the happy hormone.. You also have the functionality to pause your subscription on easy repeat, simply go to ‘My Account’ to do this.

Possible Stressfactors: - Moving House,Building work, Inter-cat conflict (for example inmultiple cat households),new arrivals in the home(pets or people), owner stress, reduced access to outdoors, boarding in a cattery, cat travel, loud noises, etc. Earl has oxalate crystals so we're used to UTI's, and each time he has had one he has been prescribed metacam or it's equivalent to help with the pain. I know it sounds silly but the way I see it is UTI's are painful for us, and I couldn't leave my cats to get on with it. Remember, animals hide illness quite well as it is a survival strategy - showing pain or weakness could make them vulnerable in the wild. TBH I would imagine it's similar to something like zyklene - I had her on this for well over a year and gradually weaned her off it Ceva have launched Feliway Cystease, a new urinary tract support supplement for cats. An elaboration on the original product, Cystease S, the new version contains N-acetyl glucosamine, L-tryptophan and Hyaluronic Acid. When managing this condition it is important to look at measures to help restore the bladder lining and, where possible, reduce and eliminate stress factors.

Owners know their cat best and what might cause them to be worried, but there are a number of general things that you can do to reduce stress in their environment. They include: Hiding places These tablets are indeed intended for cats exactly like yours. "Idiopathic cystitis" is one of the names used to describe the condition and it certainly seems to help using a product like this. It has to be given for a few weeks before it is fully effective, then has to be given long-term. You could also try him with a little goats milk as a change from broth, but go cautiously as some cats get a loose stool from any kind of milk that contains lactose.
