About this deal

Instead of coming with a normal carrying case or pouch, it comes with this this big box which I hate. It's not travel friendly ONE BIT, it has a cutout to place the headphones in which isn't even fully snug or designed well, and the box is prone to getting easily dirty and its hard to clean or the material comes off. I'm going to sell my pair and the box already looks a bit like hell, and I've barely done anything to it. Why? Just why? Tl;dr: I dont know if there are compromises in the manufacture of the Sennheiser HD6XX because its crowdsourced and potentially built to a different price point to the HD650 its based on. You’re not expecting much, I’m not expecting much, so let’s just rip the band-aid off. Obviously, the sub-bass response of the KSC75 is its biggest weakness that cannot be fixed with mere EQ, so don’t get one if you value dat rumble in your music.

The Sennheiser HD650 has a very good sound quality as the sound distortion is very low. Though a little high-frequency coloration might occur, it is not that much to care about. The bass sound is really warm and good and the details of the sounds can listen in an exceptional manner. Disclaimer: The Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee was sent to us a sample in exchange for our honest opinion and does not have to be returned. We thank Massdrop for this opportunity. I guess i find myself unfairly putting the HD6XX down because it doesnt appear to me like a 'proper' factory Sennheiser headphone despite the general consensus on this forum being that theyre essentially interchangeable. Any insight from members who own one or both of the models would be appreciated. I dont own either (instead owning the Grado SR325i amped with a Fiio A5) but i have always wanted a HD650 and want to know whether i should consider the HD6XX as a solid contender but will get the HD650 if it offers more. It’s easy to regard the HD 6XX’s sound signature as just another dynamic-driven headphone, bringing with it traits that often have audiophiles drawing lines in the sand between those who love a drop of pleasing warmth in their sonic coffee, and those who demand near-clinical dedication to the recording as it was originally rendered. However, what is so pleasing about the HD 6XX (and the 650 before them) is that these headphones offer a pleasant mixture of each, for a best-of-both-worlds scenario. Bill Roberson/Digital TrendsGot these two days ago, and until then I used 598SE corrected by Sonarworks. For the 560S I don’t really need correction, except on the monitoring bus of my DAW when mixing. Initial impressions, measurements, and non-audio opinions of FiiO’s newest update to their popular FH5 IEM: the FH5s. After listening to one slow ambient song, that usually felt ominous and intense as the plodding bass increased in energy feel pleasant and mild, that sealed the fate of the HD6xx as being labeled unengaging by me.

If you’ve heard the HD800/S then you should have a pretty good idea on how the HD8XX performs technically. Top-class resolution with some of the widest (some say the widest) soundstage in a headphone are the prime reasons why the HD800 series still remain relevant more than 10 years since their release in 2009. Let’s put it to rest: the HD560S really is one of the best-tuned headphones you can get on the market today, price not even being a consideration. The midrange has no errant peaks or dips, the treble isn’t overly recessed nor boosted to the high heavens, and the bass extends nicely into the lowest octaves with just the mildest bump in the mid-bass for punchiness.Could use your expert opinion on which IEMs matches the 75s signature the closest. Bonus points for budget 🙂 Whether you want to listen to music in peace without disturbing anyone or just want to watch a movie, a headphone is very much essential for that. Audiophile or not, if you like to listen to music, you have obviously thought of buying a headphone. And today we are going to talk about the comparison Sennheiser HD6XX vs HD650 and provide as much as information we can. Comparison Charts between Sennheiser HD6XX vs HD650:

Me personally? I take a more moderate position. My initial listens with the HD560S had me noticing the more forward upper-midrange/lower-treble quite a bit, especially since I was comparing directly with the HD650 at the time. But as I compared with more and more headphones, it was far less egregious than other models which had far more destructive quirks handwaved off by the general populus. Make no mistake, the HD560S is no HD800. Or DT880. Or any other mainstream Beyerdynamic, really. In the high frequencies the HD6XX is a bit more reserved than it should be. It sounds absolutely realistic and provides a lot of information, but in the top end it might be a few dB more without making the sound too bright or artificial in my opinion. This could also give the HD6XX more transparency. Here I would like a more direct response, but as in the bass and mids this is criticism on a high level, because basically the HD6XX does everything right when it comes to natural sound reproduction. Only a little bit the effervescence is missing, but life is not a rainbow-colored unicorn and therefore you can't really blame the HD6XX when it tries to stay authentic. Sibilants or peaks I can't make out, which makes for an absolutely safe and fatigue-free sound experience. Tonal correctness is clearly more important for the HD6XX than the big show. So, if you are okay with these facts, then you should go for this headphone as the sound quality itself is a lot for the headphone. Final Words

What does the Drop x Sennheiser HD 6XX use for connection?

I personally like a more wool-like appeal with a soft impact from top to bottom though. I also enjoy bass boost and more of a sense of control and depth. However, the one factor I dislike about the HD6xx is that recessive quality the midrange pushes. It is significantly more forward, objectively, on the HD58x. The HD6xx is just more relaxed sounding and less dynamically interesting than the HD58x. The Music style I usually listen are classical music, Japanese Pop and female singers, such as Beyonce and Celine Dion. Otherwise, this headphone doesn’t have good extra features that can help you to use it everywhere or take calls or other stuff as it is completely performance-centric. It doesn’t provide much convenience, only audio quality.

The Sennheiser HD6XX can be the perfect headphone for you if you are an audiophile and at the same time looking for a headphone of a modest price. It is a high-end headphone with a fix at less kind of deal and has an impressive design. The KSC75’s bass is surprisingly punchy and comes with enough impact to make me not completely dismiss for personal use, though obviously I wish for more low-end extension. The upper-midrange is forward and some might say intense, but nothing that I would constitute as a hard dealbreaker (especially considering the price, which I will get to later).

Disclaimer – The product was provided to me free of charge for the review in exchange for my honest opinion. Put mine in a Porto Pro headset and installed some Yaxi pads. Used a bunch EQ presets, that all kind of sound the same (SoundSource on the Mac). Used and Schiit IEMagni desktop rig. I bought these used. Then washed the pads. I did listen to them a but before washing the pads, and after drying the pads it sounded the same to me. Used pads may mean that I had much less treble than new pads would.
