About this deal

The Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II Asph. lens looks very small on the Panasonic Lumix G9. Photo: Joshua Waller Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 II Asph: At a glance There were cases where the camera froze when transferring images to a PC via Wi-Fi (5GHz). This phenomenon has been fixed.

The reason the AF is mentioned so much is because that is the weakness. That's pretty much it. It's an absolute gem of a lens otherwise. If they came out with a 20mm f1.7 III with AF like the 15mm f1.7 then I think this would be a lens with zero "cons" on the review summary. Or if the 17mm f1.8 had optics like the 20mm f1.7, that would work too!OPPO's mid-range smartphone aims to provide a sophisticated camera system at an attractive price. Andy Westlake sees how it measures up. I have the mark I version of the Panaleica 25mm and while on the charts it may be inferior to the Olympus I absolutely love the smooth rendering and the rich tonality. Wide open is just magic.

Any comments on how the 20 fairs AF wise on the new OM-D? I’m looking at building a MFT kit (I’m tired of waiting on sony lenses for my NEX). I’ve got the 12, 14, 20 and 45 in my sights. The 45 is a given, the rest of the equation is either the 14 and 20 for 2 smaller lenses to travel with or to combine them into just the 12mm. One of my biggest concerns is AF speed, my second being size. So if the Panasonics do well on the OM-D I’ll go that route, but if they’re not I’ll go with the larger 12mm and call it a day. Any help is greatly appreciated. Any for reference I’m using this setup to shoot my kits around the house, so it’ll be low light (3200 f/2 and 1/90th). Ever since the time of introduction, the LUMIX GH6 gained high attention and have been acclaimed after its release to the market not only from the conventional GH users but also from the new GH users worldwide. The GH6 is planned to “evolve” with firmware updates to further enhance its performance and usability for professional video creators, as previously announced. The full frame pixels in that example will be bigger so the image will appear darker but it just needs a the values to be rescaled and you will have the same image with the same noise performance. As falloff and distortion are corrected by the camera's image processing engine when shooting JPEGs, falloff and distortion will only be easily visible when shooting in RAW format. lenses were fairly popular in the "good old days". I think the quality of these cheap M43 25mm is the real problem. They are not special at all 😉. They are not WR. They are not that fast either for a prime, and need stopping down anyway for decent images. My copy suffered from severe focus shifting, meaning the sharpness actually decreased when stopping down from F1.7 to F2.8. And I was not the only one experiencing this, there is at least one YouTube video explaining the issue. It can detect the eyes / face at a 2x faster recognition cycle speed and human / animal at a 5x faster recognition cycle speed. These subjects can be detected even they appear in approximately half the size. *Comparison between before and after updating the firmware. Ergonomics Winner: My personal preference is the Panasonic due to it’s weight and size, but I would have to call a draw on this one. Autofocus The blue column represents readings from the centre of the picture frame at the various apertures and the green is from the edges. Averaging them out gives the red weighted column. Given its 17.3x13mm sensor, the standard lens for a Micro Four Thirds camera (according to the rule of using the diagonal length of the sensor) ought to be about 22mm. That is close enough to 20mm for this lens to be viewed as a standard optic, especially given its fast f/1.7 aperture, which echoes the typical apertures of standard lenses for 35mm cameras.
