I just went to Super Nintendo World on opening day, and boy are my wrists tired! (Don’t worry, I’ll explain.) Finally, on all the physical sets, you’ll see AR elements on top of them. This makes it challenging for a ride-through video that captures what it feels like. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™, the innovative, immersive and highly-anticipated themed land officially opens at Universal Studios Hollywood on Friday, February 17, 2023. So, get ready; this exciting debut marks SUPER NINTENDO WORLD’s official arrival to the United States.Epic Universe will be Universal Orlando’s newest theme park when it opens in 2025. It is being built a couple miles south of the current parks. The final layer for this attraction is provided by the Augmented Reality visor itself. This technology adds 3-dimensional imagery on top of your view, which blends into the reality around you. This is different from Virtual Reality, which replaces everything you see with a completely new visual image. Augmented Reality instead adds extra stuff onto what you’re really seeing. Yeah, guess this is the best aproach for this ride, I can imagine the huge complains about playing in real go-karts while other drivers throw random stuff at you (but it could be really fun!) One major difference we do know about for Epic Universe’s version of Super Nintendo World, is how we will enter the land. As with all of the lands within this park, we will enter via a portal. The beacon atop the portal will be made up of several colorful pipes along with floating Power-Ups like Mushrooms and glowing Super Stars. Clyde_Radcliffe Have you no taste? Everyone knows the green shell is the way to go, it’s worse then bananas or blue! Given that the successful completion of these games is necessary to experience the park’s only other “main” attractions ( a Bowser Jr.-themed movement game that under normal circumstances would be worth the wait), these minigames come across more like mandatory fun, amusing far more on paper than in practice.The lines, though, man. There's a calculus for this. Every five minutes spent in a line waiting for an attraction subtracts one minute from the funtime spent interacting with the attraction itself. If you're in line for a 10-minute attraction, it stops being worth it once the line lasts more than 45 minutes. Realistically, this experience would not be worth the time or money for me, which is a glum realization.

That’s a tough challenge, mixing an attraction with video game elements. I believe Nintendo and Universal did an excellent job. Would I call this the best high-tech attraction ever? No, I wouldn’t. But my gosh, I had so much fun that I didn’t care. The most significant part of Mario Kart is the AR headset and glasses. Once you’re in the preshow area, you’re given your Mario Cap visor. This visor comes with adjustable straps to secure it to your head. While travelling aboard, having travel insurance protects you against injury, cancellations, illness, and other things you can never predict. Whenever I travel, I always budget for travel insurance to protect myself. I’ve used it, and I’m so glad I had it. My recommended companies are SafteyWing and World Nomads for travel insurance. Learn More about Universal Studios Japan But again, everything was fully functional, meticulously detailed, and left a lasting impression on me, from the underwater music in the bathrooms, to the overstuffed “1-Up Factory” gift shop, to the Easter Egg Pikmin hiding throughout the park. There are spoilers throughout this, so if you only want to know my verdict on the ride, you can skip to the end of the article. Table of Contents You’ll race other guests through iconic Mario Kart courses, toss shells, spin out of control, and shed a tear, knowing that your childhood has come to life. The food is worse and anywhere from 50%-200% more expensive, plus you have to wait all day if you want to get something from the Toad Caffe. Getting one the “watches” is ideal if you want interact with the park, which is arguably the main feature, as you can’t get into Bowser’s Castle without having enough points. Two theme parks launched, Mario movie and a Zelda game. Nintendo is going to have an incredible year 😎
