Maybe it's just us, but even with the summertime s'more craze, winter seems to be the true marshmallow season. There's just something delightfully wintery about a marshmallow's pure white sweetness, perfectly complimenting so many warm and cozy treats. Honey-soaked peach/apricot flavours that become slightly spicier mid-palate. The finish reveals vanilla and more honey that’s deliciously smooth and sweet. On The Nose Since 1992 I have been an avid drinks enthusiast and have been making Mead in my native country of Lithuania for over 30 years. I am also a drinks writer and member of the British Distilleries Alliance. I was pleasantly surprised that it tastes less sweet than other whisky liqueurs and the flavour is a little smoky.Final Thoughts: With the weather being as extreme as it is in Northern Scotland along the coast, this whisky liqueur makes sense. It’s easy to see someone, in a cliff-side house, sitting with a dram of this on a winter’s night. The fire behind them warms their outside while sips of this—all while staring out into the dark and foreboding sea—warms the soul. For those that want to like Scotch but maybe can’t do the intense peaty smoky flavor, this is a good place to start (or, you know, if you’re a lighthouse keeper). Wild Turkey American Honey is made with traditional rye whiskey blended with pure honey and spices to create a delightful, sweet, smooth whiskey liqueur. On The Nose I love Stroma. I use it in a rusty nail as an alternative to Drambuie. Also lovely on its own with ice.
