About this deal

Does anyone have a set of Bresser binoculars? I personally hadn't heard of them. Also I didn't know you could get 60mm binoculars. I always thought the jump was from 50mm to 70mm! are very usable as binoculars, once you adjust to the eye piece focusing which is used on most military binoculars.

There are two reasons for this. The first is a practical one. German-made binoculars were of outstanding quality. TheyThese things will be produced only if demand is perceived. But beating the drum on this has so far not produced any modern production, and has only increased the pressure on the limited supply of the originals. although some people don't like the Jenoptem because of the poor edge performance which I think is due mainly to a curved field, they are valued because they're well built and fully repairable. First off, here's a comment made bu user Ken31 on the Stargazers Lounge forum, in the Astro Lounge sub forum, in the thread entitled "Lidl 8x60 Binoculars" by RyanL. Get somebody to measure your pupils in dim light with a ruler and add 10%. That will give you an idea of your pupil size in a moderately dark sky.

It was in a glass showcase with Hubble bubble smoking equipment that is sometimes seen being used in Eastern countries. Since this chamber reaming operation is also possible for earlier I-bore rifles, 8x60mm chambered rifles (without the S or any other further additions) also exist. 8x60mm rifles sport the earlier tighter 8.07 mm (.318 in) I-bore as found in the 8x57mm I.

Where can I get my vintage German binoculars serviced?

Light intensive 60mm lenses with variable dioptre setting and flexible eye cups ideal for use with eye wear Thought I would post this and that above to let people who may still want to take a punt on a pair before tomorrow (Wednesday, last day of the offer?) to have as much info as possible. The post above can be found at the link below if you want to read the whole thread... Handloaders can also produce this round, by altering a .30-06 Springfield case and using a standard 8mm bullet. Prvi Partizan is a major supplier of brass components for European 8×60mm S Handloaders.

All of these add to the value. If you want to be 100% sure of its provenance then some documentary evidence would be needed. Markings Dienstglas As for the Bresser 8x60mm at Lidl, the photograph shows a silver looking coating with a hint of sky blue on the front lenses. I haven't been to our local Lidl store to have a look myself though, and the photo might be misleading. I don't know enough about coatings to comment on that. Do you have any thoughts? The difficulty is that there isn't much to be retained in the case with that 150 grain if you seat to the correct OAL. Which is effectively the same as the OAL used by the Germans in military FMj ball plus that 3mm extra.Later in the War a tan or sand colour was used for Army binoculars. However, this does not mean they were intended for use in the desert. Price guide The faintest stars visible were 0.1 magnitude fainter than with a standard 12 x 50 medium quality binocular. After 1940 the German military wanted to keep the manufacturers' names secret. I am not sure if the motivation was fear of allied bombing or to disguise manufacturers in ones, but do not have a maker's mark, a letter code or the word 'Dienstglas'. They are just marked 6x30. My thoughts are that these were made after the War for the surplus
