I think it's writers like McGrath that can more commonly write books that are either a huge hit or miss. A contrast to author's who's expectant style is always comfortably familiar, full of characters and a world that are always there for you to sit down with, just like old familiar friends sitting in your living room watching TV with you...and so it's a no-brainer you can rest easy and enjoy. In 2005, Asylum, was made into a movie. I think it might be better that way because you'd be able to see and feel the passion coming through living, breathing, characters.
