We know you can't wait to get colouring, but always read the instructions that come with your chosen hair colour — even if you’ve used Directions before.

Step 8 – Rinse thoroughly

I found swapping my very hot straightener for one with temperature control has really helped the condition of my hair and does not affect the colour, meaning I can style it more often. Yay! With 46 mixable colours in our collection, the possibilities are endless. Our softer shades are a safe way to begin, as seen above, such as Bright Daffodil, Apricot or Pastel Blue. These colours will have the shortest longevity, so are less to commit to. Or, if you are ready to keep your colour for a bit longer, you can try the punchier shades pictured, like Violet, Spring Green or Flamingo Pink. It’s a good idea to have a dedicated t shirt for dyeing your hair: this will save your clothes from getting dye on. Depending on the tone of your natural hair colour, this might restrict how effectively certain colours come through once they are applied. It might be worth looking into our hair lightening products before you start to give your new colour the perfect platform to shine. If more than one colour is applied the hair must be washed and dried separately, and greater care must be taken when partially colouring lighter hair.Directions Hair Dye - You will fall in love with the new colours in the range! When applying multiple colours, make sure you keep separate shades clipped up and out of each other’s way.

For long lasting colour try to avoid washing your hair with hot water: the colder the better, which will not only keep the dye from washing out but it also leaves your hair shiny. By applying the hair colour initially to a small section of easily hideable hair, you can confirm that the colour comes out as you expected, or if you need to apply it for a longer or shorter period of time to get the colour you crave. Use a tint brush to comb the colour into the various sections of hair, applying it to ¼ – ½ inch at a time for total coverage. Use your brush rather than straight from the tub to ensure an even coverage. Step 7 – Let the colour do its thing

Use a tinting brush: highly recommended for the first application and if using more than one colour. It will help you to be more precise and achieve a good even coverage.

To help make sure you don’t have to reach for the scissors or make an emergency salon appointment, separate your damp hair into at least four sections using hair clips or bands. This exposes all your hair to the colour, giving you complete coverage.
