About this deal

S200MKIII is a remarkable pair of speakers that deliver a neutral approach that is precise, detailed, and clear. They do offer a degree of versatility and are a decent alternative to soundbar for TV. I feel they are tailored more towards home studios or desktops. My initial reaction to this was that it’s probably a bit of a cost cutting exercise to help save a few pounds / dollars on the more premium stuff. But, after a few minutes thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that I would happily pay more to have a premium unboxing experience. On my list of today’s comparisons is “ Edifier S2000MKIII vs S3000Pro”. Edifier has been around in the audio niche for quite some time now and their game is getting really strong. They have introduced some high-quality, budget speakers one after another. Appearance: S2000MKIII:

Please DO NOT use these as desktop speakers for the following reasons. They are simple not designed for that. Anche qua è interessante perché DSD LP rip suonano molto più caldi e corposi, fin troppo, mentre registrazioni da studio sono molto più precise e fedeli. Ma quello va a gusto.

At the start I did not notice much difference with the presets/EQ settings but after the 50+ hours of playing the differences became way more distinctive. With the large bass woofers, movie special effects that include explosions or deep rumbles are clear-cut and quite noticeable. Low-frequency response is also powerful and there is no discernible distortion even at mid-to-high volume levels. CONTRO: il prezzo…secondo me sono troppo cari, pagati €459,00 secondo me il loro prezzo sono quello che si trova quando sono in offerta e comunque non più di € 400,00. With S3000Pro frequency separation is balanced and clear, with little to no overlap between the drivers. Note separation and imaging is impeccable as is an excellent depth of field. The tonality of the S3000 Pro speakers is rich and has depth when blended with the bass register. There is a cool innovative touch on these though and that is the smart start-up. It protects both your hearing and the speaker from harm. If you were listening at high volumes it’ll lower the volume the next time you turn them on. I thought it was a bug in the system at first, but when I did my research I realised it was intentional.

Around the rear of the right speaker are the physical connections and dials for tweaking the sound. There’s a Speaker Out connection that’s for connecting to the left-sided speaker via a cable that looks more like an umbilical cord. There’s a rear bass port on each speaker so for a better bass response it’s worth keeping them close to a wall. Here at What Gadget, we have been reviewing a number of Edifier products from their TWS buds to overhead headphones and even their offering to the gaming headphone market. So when I was asked to review the S200MKIII bookshelf speakers it really did spike my interest.Although the Edifier S2000MKIII is very different in comparison to the Audioengine A5+ because each has a unique style, the Edifier S2000MKIII is elegant and very classy minus the ugly grilles while the Audioengine A5+ is modernized and simplistic.

They are quite large. I feel that they are not quite suitable as ‘desktop’ speakers. The massive size and sound quality make them more suitable for living rooms or someplace where you are at least a few meters away from them. The sound is churned out via planar diaphragm tweeters and 5.5-inch woofers, with 15W of power delivered to the tweeters and 50W reserved for the woofers. Powering that sound is a Class-D digital amp. A dual DSP digital processor is used to manage crossover for frequencies. It uses two chips to independently manage treble and the medium-bass channels. This is different from AirPulse, which uses the XMOX chip to do digital crossover tasks. What arrived was a massive box and I have to say very heavy which did provide me with some concern especially getting it upstairs. When I got these out of the box the speakers are very large and very heavy. You will notice them for sure and also something to consider they need to be on the same level as each other in regards to the cable connection and sound projection.S3000PRO, Remote Control, Batteries, Power Chord, USB Cable, Optical Cable, 3.5mm>RCA Cable, RCA Cable, User Manual The power consumption is constant throughout at 4W even in sleep mode making them great for conservation of power. Its neutrality serves it well as an alternative to a soundbar. There’s plenty of detail and balance: the soundstage is wider and fuller and the bass is better than what you’d get from a flatscreen TV with intelligible dialogue too. It gives a TV’s sound more weight and directs it into the room, but these are big speakers and they’d need a speaker stand if you’re going to sit them either side of a 50-inch+ TV. You should buy the Edifier S2000MKIII Active speakers if… It was almost audio love at first sight when I unboxed them. The speakers are really heavy, so probably not suitable for my cheap IKEA desk. But, very much at home on the TV stand. The front of the speakers has a grille but it is removable, although you need to apply quite a bit of force to do that. The grilles can make the speakers look ugly, thankfully you do not have to keep them on if you don’t like the look. Each midbass unit is driven by a TAS5754 and features a luxurious PBTL parallel bridge to make the power reserve more abundant. The TAS5754 power amplifier outputs a PWM carrier frequency of 768KHz, fully optimising high-frequency distortion and local noise. Personalmente ho creato una catena con mini pc e Daphile, DAC Topping, e file DSD su un disco di rete.AMASE THE WORLD WITH THE POWER: The RMS continuous undistorted power of S2000MKIII is: treble 15W×2 + midbass 50W×2, able to easily present a large vocal scene, even for a large space of 50m2. The Bluetooth connectivity is easy and strong. I paired up my phone in seconds and didn’t suffer any of the connection issues I’ve faced before with other speakers in the range. There is also no discernible quality difference when listening via wired or wireless input.
