About this deal

In 1958, the company was bought by the Beecham Group who kept the Corona brand. Although production continued to be centralised in South Wales, depots began to appear all over the United Kingdom. Under new management Corona reached a new audience and during the 1960s was promoted by a series of television advertisements starring British singer and comedian Dave King. [8] With the rise of supermarkets in the late 1960s and 1970s, the public's shopping habits changed and the door-to-door sales reduced. During the 1970s, one of Corona's most memorable advertising campaigns used the slogan Every bubble's passed its FIZZical! [9] In 1987 the company again changed hands, coming under the ownership of Britvic. [9] Britvic closed the Welsh Hills plant in Porth in 1987, with production being transferred to Bolton in Lancashire, England. The ice cream is cold in the centre but melty at the edges, the foam light in texture and the pop bubbly on the tongue. The earliest reference to carbonated ginger beer is in a Practical Treatise on Brewing. published in 1809. The drinking of either natural or artificial mineral water was considered at the time to be a healthy practice, and was promoted by advocates of temperance. Pharmacists selling mineral waters began to add herbs and chemicals to unflavored mineral water. They used birch bark (see birch beer), dandelion, sarsaparilla root, fruit extracts, and other substances.a b Carradice, Phil (26 June 2012). "The story of Corona pop". bbc.co.uk . Although some people think that the caffeine in tea and coffee might damage their health, this isn’t the case for most people. In fact, drinking moderate amounts (4-5 cups a day) of tea or coffee has been linked to benefits for reducing risk of CVDand type 2 diabetes. Marshall TA, Levy SM, Broffitt B, Warren JJ, Eichenberger-Gilmore JM, Burns TL, Stumbo PJ (2003). "Dental caries and beverage consumption in young children". As of 2014, the top consuming countries per capita were Argentina, the United States, Chile, and Mexico. Developed countries in Europe and elsewhere in the Americas had considerably lower consumption. Annual average consumption in the United States, at 153.5 liters, was about twice that in the United Kingdom (77.7) or Canada (85.3). [32]Many coffee shops now do “iced” versions of these drinks, but bear in mind that these won’t be any lower in fat and calories.
