The recommended dose is 110 micrograms as 1 spray in each nostril once daily. In patients with more severe symptoms, a dose of 220 micrograms may be used. But once symptoms are controlled, patients should be maintained on the lowest effective dose. (see sections 4.4 and 5.1). Before using nasal triamcinolone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details. Triamcinolone nasal spray Nasacort - Patient
A total of 602 children 6 to 12 years of age were studied in 3 double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials. The recommended starting dose is 220 micrograms as 2 sprays in each nostril once daily. Once symptoms are controlled patients can be maintained on 110 micrograms (1 spray in each nostril once daily).Approximately 50% of the Nasacort AQ is absorbed into the blood. A beneficial response usually is noted within a few days but can take as long as 4 weeks. Triamcinolone is available as a topical cream, ointment, lotion, spray for use on the skin, and as a paste for use in the mouth. It is also available in injectable forms to be given directly into a muscle (IM), a joint (intra-articular) and the eye (intravitreal) by a healthcare professional. If there is any reason to suppose that adrenal function is impaired, care must be taken while transferring patients from systemic steroid treatment to NASACORT. Of these, 172 received 110 mcg/day and 207 received 220 mcg/day of Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray for two, six, or twelve weeks.
Nasacort Allergy Relief for Adults 55 micrograms/dose, nasal
Intranasal administration of NASACORT 110 μg once daily in pediatric patients 2 to 5 years of age exhibited similar systemic exposure to that achieved in adult patients at a dose of 220 μg once daily.

Introduction The adverse events reported in clinical trials with Nasacort Allergy most commonly involved the mucous membranes of the nose and throat. Common side effects of triamcinolone include upset stomach, headache, insomnia, anxiety, depression, acne, increased hair growth, easy bruising, and irregular menstrual cycles. Because of the inhibitory effect of corticosteroids on wound healing in patients who have experienced recent nasal septal ulcers, nasal surgery or trauma, NASACORT should be used with caution until healing has occurred. This medication does not work right away. Some people will feel this medication working within 1 day, but it may take up to 1 week before the full benefit of this drug takes effect. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you should also use other medications (such as nose drops/spray, allergy drugs taken by mouth) along with this drug until it takes full effect. Reduction in growth velocity has been reported in children receiving nasal corticosteroids, including NASACORT at licensed doses. See section 5.1. In adults, the typical dose is 2 sprays in each nostril once or twice every day or as directed by your healthcare professional.
