About this deal

The new optical system of the TINI2, 32% more powerful than the previous one, uses 2 OSRAM P8 LEDs and total reflection optics for a soft and uniform beam. TINI2 has a maximum output of 500 lumens for a maximum beam depth of 89 meters. Admittedly, the TINI 2’s many functions and modes take some memorizing. The button combos can be a bit of a head-scratcher, so it may be worth keeping the instruction manual around, saving the PDF, or maybe bookmarking their online video (which is quite entertaining in and of itself).

Nitecore TINI2 - Display OLED, 500 Lm. USB-C REVIEW: Nitecore TINI2 - Display OLED, 500 Lm. USB-C

There are no external batteries required, and it's the brightest small flashlight we have, hands down. The 1 lumen Ultralow and 15 lumen Low modes are enough to move around in the dark without waking everyone else up. This small Nitecore keychain flashlight is about 2.5x the price of the AAA Lumintop EDC01, but as noted, this flashlight is crazy bright and small. All of the beamshots taken below are done so with the following camera settings (ULTRA-LOW: 2.5 sec, F3.5, ISO100, 5000K WB, LOW: 0.8 sec, F3.5, ISO100, 5000K WB, MID: 1/3 sec, F3.5, ISO100, 5000K WB, HIGH: 1/5 sec, F3.5, ISO100, 5000K WB, and TURBO: 1/8 sec, F3.5, ISO100, 5000K WB). The beam of the Nitecore TINI2 has a white (CW) tint that is not too cold and no particular artifact or dominant. I didn't notice PWM in the various brightness levels. The distance from the start of the spill to the feet is about 20 cm. Note: The stated data is measured in accordance with the international flashlight testing standards ANSI/PLATO FL 1-2019, using the built-in Li-ion battery (280mAh) under laboratory conditions. The data may vary in real world use due to different battery usage or environmental conditions.

The Nitecore TINI2 comes from the Nitecore’s T series and is the second generation version of the original Nitecore TINI model. I found a 100 year old company that would create these heirloom quality canisters for me. They are handmade and will keep your tea leaves, coffee beans or anything that you need dry for years to come. As for the TINI 2’s components, it contains a typical lithium-ion battery rated at 280 mAh. Meanwhile, the dual LEDs installed are P8 LEDs from OSRAM, one of the most reputable brands when it comes to anything that lights up. We’re always happy to see when brands source quality components from reputable manufacturers, whether it’s zippers, fabrics—or in this case—LEDs because of the peace of mind it gives. For this light, it is a definite YES, if the tint shift and beam profile are not an issue for your usage. Like others have mentioned, even in its lowest setting, it makes plenty of light. I'm a flashlight enthusiast, so I have quite a collection of high-end flashlights, which is to say that I am familiar with lumen output. in 200-lumen mode, this thing definitely puts out plenty of light, making it a very good everyday-carry tool.

High holds very close to its word; at just before 46 minutes, there’s a brief rise in output, and then a gentle slide down to zero. Medium runs for almost 127 minutes before the slide down, which is a bit down from its stated runtime of 2.5 hours. Today I’m taking a look at the Nitecore TINI2, one of the newest keychain lights in Nitecore’s stable. In DAILY mode the flashlight will remain on until the user turns it off manually. The "TURBO" level is only momentary by holding down the "MODE" button. The flashlight is sealed and tightened down with 6 screws from factory – disassembly is not recommended.Note: By being in DEMO mode and reactivating the flashlight within 3 seconds after turning it off, you will have temporary access to DAILY mode until you turn off the flashlight again. The tiny NITECORE TINI 2 (pronounced tee-knee) has two OSRAM-branded LEDs that go all the way up to 500 lumens—TURBO mode, as NITECORE calls it. It’ll drain the 280 mAh battery in less than an hour, but the point stands: it’s more than powerful enough for casual use. It’s not just raw brightness, either. NITECORE baked in some useful modes that maximize battery life, though it takes some memorizing to get the button combinations right. Don’t worry, though, because it has a built-in OLED display to clue you in on what’s going on. To switch between Demo and Daily mode, hold both buttons on the light and the display will show the mode changing, and flash (once for Daily to Demo, and twice for Demo to Daily).

However, there are still markings on one side, probably unavoidable due to regulations. There is the logo and next to it is CE compliance mark and a crossed-out “wheelie-bin” symbol. I did notice that the RoHS compliance mark is not printed on the TINI 2. The 2 side electronic switches require a relatively light press to activate. The slightly recessed switches does help mitigate the possibility of unwanted activation of the light.

This also helps with this review, which I can tell you how much real world battery time to expect on a full charge; The 1 lumen setting is perfect enough for your to see around your area without anyone noticing a light coming from your bed. Most of all, it lasts practically forever. I would okay even with leaving it on overnight. Best of all, the TINI was designed in way that it can stand on its own. The Nitecore TINI 2 can stand on its own. Switching ON the flashlight within 3 seconds after the 30 seconds, will put the flashlight into temporary DAILY mode until switch OFF. In DAILY mode, the flashlight will remain on until the user turns it off manually. The "TURBO" level is only momentary by holding down the "MODE" button. I'm glad I did! The LED screen is great and the various modes go all the way from nightlight mode to a pretty respectable 500 lumen bright light. The built-in timer functionality is really great as well.
