About this deal

We could also see the intensity setting being helpful if you had a headache or maybe your mouth was a bit sensitive after taking a bite of hot cheese on a pizza. The lower intensity still cleans your teeth, just not as thoroughly as the more powerful one. Accessories It also has other features such as Goals that allow you to customize your brushing to try to improve a specific area of oral health like “Fresh Breath” or “Gum health.” We did not find these useful as we would prefer to brush twice a day for at least 2 minutes without following some app. Part of the problem is that studies require a large amount of funding. Inevitably, it is the larger organisations who can make the monies available, hence much of the data comes from research financed by the likes of Oral-B and Sonicare. Most Sonicare brushes have 1-2 cleaning modes unless you go up to the most premium model which offers 3-5; whereas Oral-B has 1-4 modes until the most premium models that offer 5-6 modes.

Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4300 Electric Toothbrush

Overall, the Sonicare is one of the more costly brushes to own, especially if you are buying genuine Sonicare brush heads from a local store. The good news, however, is that they are readily available and easy to find! Conclusion Battery life for the DiamondClean was better than expected giving us 37 days of battery life which is well-above the advertised 2 weeks. The glass cup which doubles as an induction charger will take almost 18 hours to completely recharge the battery. Another specialized brush head is the Intercare brush head which is more compact than the standard brush heads, and may be more comfortable for people with smaller mouths. They claim that it reaches between teeth and hard to reach areas better than the larger brushes. This is basically the precursor to the DailyClean series offering one mode and the most basic cleaning of any Sonicare brush. Philips Sonicare brush head guideOral-B does offer a travel case, that allows you to charge the brush inside. However, you need to take a proprietory travel adapter, not the internationally accepted USB power cable. The Platinum is basically a precursor to the DiamondClean Smart series with 3 modes and 3 intensities and a pressure sensor. It also claims to connect to the app and have real-time brush coaching. We have not tested it, but it seems like a very advanced brush! CleanCare+

Charging is done using the included induction charger which plugs into a wall outlet. One complaint we had for most of these brushes is that the charging cord is a bit short and this one is only 100 cm (40 inches). Electric toothbrush charging test results What propels Sonicare forward is BrushSync, which I explain in detail here, but essentially it is a 2 part system that alerts you when it is time to change your brush head and selects the most suitable cleaning mode, based on the brush head fitted to the handle. At TestHut, we want to make sure that any products we recommend can do the one job that they are designed to do. In this case, we want to make sure that our toothbrushes can clean your teeth and keep you out of the dentist’s chair for as long as possible. We are happy to report that the 4300 performs this one job better than any of the other competitors. Cleaning performance test – Philips Sonicare 4300 (bottom) VS Fairywill P11 (top) If you want a good Sonicare toothbrush that will get the job done without breaking the bank, we recommend the ProtectiveClean 4300.Typically Sonicare brushes last for 2 or more weeks. 3 weeks is the average, with some lasting as long as 5 weeks between charges, and that is with twice daily use. To be called a sonic toothbrush this vibration must be at a speed that causes and audible hum. This is up to about 20,000 Hz (or vibrations per second). Vibrations faster than this are “ultrasonic” and can not be heard by the human ear. Most Oral-B and Sonicare brushes have timers built in. These come in two forms, a timer that tells you when to change quadrants in the mouth and a timer that tells you the clean is over. If you are looking for luxury in a toothbrush, then this is the one for you. The DiamondCare Smart (HX9903/43) gives almost the same feeling of clean as the 4300, but it also includes more modes, more intensities, and an app with live coaching! You pay for all the added features, but you get a beautiful toothbrush that will do a great job cleaning your teeth for years to come!

Sonicare vs Oral-B: 2023 head-to-head (UK) - Electric Teeth Sonicare vs Oral-B: 2023 head-to-head (UK) - Electric Teeth

All of these DiamondClean Smarts offer everything the 7100 has in a beautiful satin-finish like the DiamondClean. They give you 5 modes to choose from with 3 intensities for a grand total of 15 options when you brush, which is more than anyone needs. Philips says that the 4300 comes with a “premium” travel case. But we found this white toothbrush coffin to be anything but premium. The plastic feels cheap and thin, and we tried so many times to put the brush handle in the box in a way so that it would not roll around, but it is impossible. There is room for two brush heads, and these snap in tight. But the handle itself just kind of rests on a little plastic depression which does not keep it in place. Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4300 uses our unique sonic technology which drives fluid deep between teeth along with our specially designed brush heads to gently but effectively remove plaque in-between teeth and along the gum line. Simply brush with our Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4300 for 2 minutes twice a day for increased plaque removal for healthier teeth and gums in just 2 short weeks1. It’s a bit like having a gas or electric heating in your home. Both can heat your home but they do so in slightly different ways. One major problem with this brush is that it doesn’t even come with a pressure sensor. It is near the top-of-the-line brush that Sonicare offers, but it is missing a basic feature that we think is pretty important. Why did Philips not include one? We don’t know, but it means we wouldn’t recommend this brush. Quadpacer alerts you when to move on to each section of your mouth while our Smartimer signals when your total time is up.
